Cut-out embellishments have become very popular in the last year or so. They give you a fantastic look of three-dimensional embellishments without all of the bulk. They are also a fantastic time saver, and very inexpensive.

Scrapbook.com has released a line of E-Cuts . E-Cuts are similar to Ivy Cottage Cut-outs, EK Success Fresh Cuts, and Beary Patch Cut-outs. However, unlike traditional cut-outs, E-Cuts can be printed as many times as you want right from the comfort of your own home. They are scrapbooking layout kits you download, print out, cut out and use on your scrapbook pages, memory books, cards, and other paper projects. You buy them once and can use them forever.



All you need to use them is a computer, color printer and any type of cardstock or paper.

A variety of artists have worked together to come up with a collection of simply gorgeous designs. Because they are downloadable, designs covering a variety of themes can be released more often. This makes it easier to find the ones that are perfectly suited to you and your scrapbooks.


Why should you download and print cut-outs instead of buying them in a store where they are already printed?
There are a few benefits to doing it yourself:

  • You don't have to leave the house to get them, so they're always in your “stash.'These E-Cuts are a great save when you want to finish up a layout late at night, and can't get to the store to buy what you need.
  • You can re-use them as much as you want.
  • They are never out of stock, so you can always buy the ones you want.
  • You can use photo editing software to alter the colors if you need to.
  • They are great for creating cards, invitations, or multiple pages with the same design.

If you want to re-use a portion of the E-Cuts sheet, but don't want to re-print the entire sheet, here are some instructions for printing only sections of it at a time:
    1. In Acrobat Reader, choose the Graphics Select Tool from the tool area. Use that to highlight the section you want to print.

    1. Right click.

    1. Choose copy.

    1. Open your photo editing program.

    1. Paste as a new image.

  1. Print only what you need!


Still not convinced? Try these alternative uses for E-Cuts :
  • Print on Adhesive Paper and create your own E-Cut stickers.
  • Print on colored paper, or cardstock for different moods and textures.
  • Print on photo paper for designs that pop off the page.
  • Import into photo editing software (Adobe Photoshop, etc.) and create digital scrapbook pages with E-Cut embellishments .
