I just love the texture of felt. Not quite smooth, not quite rough...some wonderful place in between. Not only do I love the feel of felt, I appreciate the visual punch it gives my projects.
Try a couple of these techniques on your next layout or card, and maybe you'll fall in love with felt too!
Very Merry
This layout includes patterned paper with felt dots as well as a handcut star from ivory-colored felt. You can handcut any simple design for a crafty look that I find very appealing. Try polka dots, simple trees or flowers, hearts, or a large felt arrow to draw your attention to something important on your layout.

Love You Card
This fast and simple card features a strip of felt border from Queen & Co. You can find several styles of felt borders online at the Scrapbook.com superstore. There are so many colors and styles to choose from it's hard not to go a little nuts! These are so versatile and you don't have to just use them as a border strip. Try cutting them apart, framing a photo, or altering them with paint or glitter for some extra pizzazz. The large letter ‘U' was handcut from a sheet of low-nap felt.
Look for different thicknesses or nap when purchasing felt to add variety to your projects.

This layout features an adorable little flower made from looped pieces of felt with a button center. This is a simple technique that really helps draw your attention to the title lettering and the photos.

I just love this fun project! I adhered felt to the cover of my favorite BasicGrey mini album. This felt happens to have adhesive on the back, so it was very simple to add it to the chipboard covers and trim it to fit. The monogram on the front is handcut from glittered felt I found at my local craft store. Felt plus bling is a beautiful thing!

You can purchase adorable accent pieces made from felt, like the flower by K&Co shown below. Smaller pieces are perfect for embellishing gift tags, cards, or small boxes, or cluster them together for more impact on a larger project like a scrapbook layout.
