October 2009 Color Combo Challenge
Submitted by: Scrapbook.com

Article Courtesy Scrapjazz.com: by Denise Gormish

1_374Colors can spark creativity. Some color combinations will ignite the imagination. When I saw a blue-green, green and brown color combination of digital papers by Mindy Terasawa I immediately wanted to create a page with that color combination.

Rachel Myerson, Jennifer Sizemore and I each created a layout with the following color guidelines:

  • Use all of the colors in the combination.
  • Use the amount of each color as needed for your layout.
  • Use any neutral colors of white or black.

For my layout, I chose to use the combination as a background for my photograph. The overlapping patterned and solid papers contribute to the close-up photograph. I also chose to use matching ribbon on the edges of the papers. The brown in the title word "you" adds to the scheme. A neutral background keeps the focus on the photograph.

Rachel Myerson created her color combination layout by featuring the colors in the choice of her background paper. She added a quote that reflected the color combination as well. To tie it all together, she used brown touches, including a solid brown color around the layout, a brown letter title and two brown flowers. The color combination unites the entire layout.

Jennifer used a colorful selection of products in the color scheme. She included patterned paper and cutouts in the appropriate colors. Her mixing of various patterned papers in strips creates an interesting look to the layout. She continued the color theme with her title.

This gorgeous color combination can be used for layouts, cards and other crafting ideas. Give this fun combination a try!
