Although I usually prefer bright, vibrant colors, I’ve always liked the softer, muted colors of the holiday season.  This month’s Color Challenge is to use one or more of the colors in this palette to create a layout or card.  You can use other colors in addition to these.  Here is the palette:

This layout brings back a lot of fond memories of when my children were a bit younger.  Using these colors added to the nostalgic mood that I was trying to create with the photos and the journaling that is hidden behind the hinged panel.  I also added some antique white acrylic paint by Kaisercraft  to bring out the texture of the American Crafts Christmas cardstock that I used for the base of my page.

These layouts by Heidi Anne Giebel are just lovely.  I particularly like the way she has used both large photos and a collage of smaller ones to tell her Christmas stories.

Patter Cross has created this beautiful card using the moss green, cranberry, and cream colors in the palette.  The rhinestones and ribbon add a touch of elegance and femininity to her design.

And who could resist this sweet layout that Patricia Folchert created?  Don’t you just want to pinch those little cheeks (gently, of course!)?  Her addition of hearts and buttons make it even sweeter.

Whether you are making Christmas cards or recalling a special moment in your holiday scrapbooks, I hope you’ll try this color palette.  The colors are festive, versatile, and timeless.
