July 2011 Color Combo Challenge

Red, white and blue - there is something magical about this color combination and it certainly gets me feeling all patriotic! Heck, it's July and whilst it is probably a bit predictable, let us embrace the cliché and challenge ourselves this month to create some inspirational layouts and cards with a red, white and blue patriotic color scheme.
There are so many ways in which you can use this color combination; here are a few of my examples:
"Friends are Worth the Trouble" - I created this layout following a Royal Wedding Party I held. This color scheme is perfect for flags and bunting. Being English, this is my patriotic version of a layout. I've used flag paper from Sandylion; alphas from Doodlebug and Sassafrass Lass as well as some journaling paper from Making Memories and some Bazzil Just the Edge strips.
Talking of bunting, I have given this layout a cottage-type feel by using a floral blue patterned paper and embellishing with lace and crepe paper. This layout is all about my jam-making activities last year.
I used the primary colors to create a child's birthday card - the bright colors work really well together and make the card fun to look at. I used BasicGrey and Doodlebug Papers, along with a stamped image from Magnolia. I colored this with my Copic Markers.
