One of my favorite things about fall is the colors. I've noticed a trend even in non-scrapbookers to go to the pumpkin patch mainly for photographs. I know for my friends and me, we go anticipating using the beautiful new fall scrapbook products to match those photos! So this month, rather than create a sketch with room for tons of pumpkin-patch photos, I created a simple, linear one that gives lots of room to show off beautiful fall-themed patterned papers!

For "Love U" I had been storing that huge flower for months. It was such an awkward shape and size that it didn't work on most layouts. This sketch was perfect for it as I love how the flower is grounded and leads up to the journaling about what's going on in the photos. I used all scraps for this layout too, including the leftover "U" Heidi Swapp ghost letter. I really like the way that the flower seems to almost quilt together the orange and blue papers.

For those who just have to squeeze in more than two fall photos, I showed a variation of the sketch in the layout titled "Grampa." Cropping the photos small allowed for me to fit four across and still show off the shape of the diecut paper. Rather than mat my photos, I saved even more space by taking a marker and drawing a border around the photos to give a nice frame. I journaled directly on my background paper to show off the stripes. I also added an orange scrap of paper behind the photos because I thought it needed more texture.

Playing with fun papers inspired my card created from this month's sketch and it was "So Much Fun" to make. The white mat around the title gives a stark contrast to keep the sentiment from getting lost in the background papers. An orange mat makes the sentiment and the card itself really pop and I think it makes the papers seem even more fun! "So Much Fun" takes the place of where I originally allowed journaling. It didn't really make sense to me, so I added a blue tab to say, "Thanks" in the place of where the sketch showed a title.
