DIY Valentine Cards
Submitted by: Scrapbook.com

Article Courtesy Scrapjazz.com: by Heidi Anne Giebel

Giving valentines brings back the memories of childhood when you may have made a little valentine pocket out of a brown paper bag to hang on your desk at school. As an adult, giving and receiving valentines is just another excuse to tell the people you love how much they mean to you.

Making your own valentines can be enjoyable because it gives you the opportunity to customize each card for the individual you have in mind. It also gives you the freedom to create any size card, complete with your own sentiment.

Part of the fun of creating your own valentines is choosing the supplies: the red, white and pink paper, the sparkly ribbon, soft lace and the stamp with the perfect sentiment. Don't forget the diecuts, chipboard shapes or large theme stickers. These are all wonderful ways to dress up the front of your valentine.

There is an abundance of valentine-related scrapbooking supplies on the market but don't limit yourself. You can also use supplies with themes such as "love," "couples" and "family." Try using a non-traditional color scheme on your valentines such as shades of purple or kraft brown.

The following are some examples of the valentines that I made for the loved ones in my family.
