Update Blog #62
By: VCW

You daily schedules, any unusual happenings, FYI stuff, whatever. The thread moves too fast to read everything. This blog should be used to point out highlights and things going on with those in the thread.

I took about week off and I missed you guys!
Oldest DD is home from the Philippines for a visit. DD #3 graduates from college next weekend, so all 9 of us head to Georgia for that.
Little DD is finally recovering from the awful cough she's had for a month! We're busy, but life is GOOD!!

It rained last night, so I was able to check for leaks in the new building. No leaks in the roof but some water got in from one of the doors. Dh or I will add some more protection around the door seal.

Can't apply sealer today due to humidity from the rain. Maybe that's a good thing. Got too much going on as it is.

I ordered 36 refills for my ATG gun. That should take me through the rest of this year and then some. Ordered another gun but they're out until July. I didn't want a 700 plus adapter.

I also finally used my gc from here. I ordered the following items:
-Across The Street - Lazy Scrapper Organizer - Blue and Brown
-Tombow - Mono Adhesive Dots Roller and Glue Pen Combo, BRAND NEW
-3- Ranger Ink - Stickles Glitter Glue - Gold, BRAND NEW
-Ranger Ink - Stickles Glitter Glue - Baby Blue, BRAND NEW
-Ranger Ink - Stickles Glitter Glue - Waterfall, BRAND NEW
-Ranger Ink - Stickles Glitter Glue - Stardust, BRAND NEW

And now I'm debating on ordering the entire Stickles collection from evil bay.

Plan on shopping tonight for food stuff for Mother's day. We're gonna serve lunch here at our house.

Tomorrow, I'll be babysitting the boys and will be driving them to dd's new house. :(

DD is having a hard time shopping for me for my mother's day gift. I asked for more cabinets for my sb area. I found more like the ones I got from K-mart at Big Lots. I even bought 3 more of the ones with the sliding shelves yesterday.

Job interview went well. I think. Now I sit and wait.

I'm here, working on a BOM. It is quite hard for me.. I finally pulled all the photos from 3 of my mom's albums, and the last one is from the year I was born. I looked at the pic of mom 4 months before I was born. She's quite 'flat'. Now I know why she locked up those albums.. and why she was so nervous when I 'found' them the first time (I was about 8 or 9). Luckily, I was dumb enough not to notice that...

Anyway, I'm doing an intro per decade of my life... I just ran out of the right colour cs. Yes, I have 100s of CS, just not the matching colour to these pp that I want!!!

BTW, I'll be re-doing one of the CJ pages as one of the 'decade index' page. I think.
I'm bringing out all my passport photos over the years. I found out I have only taken 1 or 2 in the last 10 years..... whereas the first 10 years of my life, I took like 15 passport photos (for school ID and etc).

I am now enjoying a three-day weekend from work for Mother's Day. I spent this week working my heinie-butt off at work (yes, it grew back each time) and helping Jory's class. The fourth-grade is doing a unit entitled "Scrapbooks in Communication Arts," and I am a parent volunteer. I went three days, Monday through Wednesday, for an hour each day. Thursday and Friday they had a Mother's Day project to work on, so I didn't go.

Monday I went and took a mini-tote of decorative scissors and punches. Went around and spent a few minutes with each child, praising their pictures and paper choices.

Tuesday, I took two scrapbooks in to inspire them. I showed them that a good LO does not necessarily have pictures. The first book I showed them was the second volume in "The Story of Jory." The second book was my 8x8 DCWV OUaT "Momma's Brag Book." I taught the children about the importance of bling, and Jory pipes up with, "Yeah! She goes on this scrapbook website, and they call her a Bling PRINCESS!!!" Naturally the entire class bust out laughing. (Jory's teacher, though, understood. She is a scrapper herself.)

Wednesday, I took Cricut for a field trip to Jory's school. Jory has a duffel bag that Cricut fit in perfectly, so I packed her up and took her with me. Cricut takes less than 5 minutes to hook up and turn on. Once I had Cricut out of the bag, I had all twenty fourth-graders crowded around me AND the teacher. I went through the class, one by one, and cut a shape or a phrase for them all. It was a LOT of fun, and naturally, Jory tried to run the show: "That's MY mom and MY mom's Cricut! Isn't it COOL?" ROFL When it comes down to it, he is really proud of Momma's hobby.

Last night dh and I went shopping for Mother's Day lunch at our house. We watched "Enchanted" together. I think all three of us enjoyed it.

We were up very early to help dd move and me to baby sit the boys. We left for her new home about 10:30, got back home just a bit ago. :sigh: It's done.

The boys did like their camping area with its fake fire. Pretty cool really.

I've got 2 really long extension cords now. These will be put to use in the building. One for a fan, one for the vacuum.

Need to clean house but can't get motivated just yet. It will be done tonight.

Still not started on the mini-album for Estee's challenge. Hope to do that one tomorrow.

Spent the day with my favorite customer. We never get much done, but we always have fun. We're trying to figure out if we can get to CK Manchester together next week. I spent a good part of the day going through memorabelia and seperating it into categories. Right now I'm cozy in bed, about to seperate the large categories into layout sized categories. The goal is to be able to finish albums using all of this.

I had a hard moment today. One of the things I found was a "happy note" ( a note that Abby's old daycare does to let parents know about somthing that their child did in school that day.) written by a teacher who had Abby in the infant room and again in the pre-school room. Gloria died of cancer a couple of months ago, and reading what she wrote about Abby made me miss her.

Crisis with Dawn's niece's pregnancy. Keep them all in prayer, especially Megan.

10-May-2008 @ 8:25:05pm
My 14 yr old niece is 27 weeks pregnant and got admitted last night for leaky amniotic fluid.
If she has no further leaks, she goes home tomorrow and is on bedrest the rest of the way. If it does leak, she stays there the rest of the way, how ever long it may be.
She passed today's leak test.

11-May-2008 @ 6:17:16pm
I haven't updated here in a long time. Nothing new, really. Just busy and tired. Only 12 1/2 days of school left. Two Mondays, 3 Tuesdays, 3 Wednesdays, 3 Thursdays, 1 1/2 Fridays, 3 more recess duties.

11-May-2008 @ 8:45:43pm
I got my mini-album done and uploaded for Estee's challenge.

Played hooky from church today. All three of us.

First year that dh didn't buy me a gift for mother's day. Don't know how I feel about that.

Less than 18 minutes left on an ebay auction on Stickles. I'm winning so far.

11-May-2008 @ 11:38:35pm
My niece has to stay in hospital for 48 more hours and as long as she does not leak anymore, she will go home, but be on complete bedrest the next 12 weeks.

12-May-2008 @ 9:59:13am
I lost my bid on ebay. So placed an order at another site that sells all the colors of Stickles. Even ordered 5 of the Ice ones. So I'm feeling much better now. Happy Mother's Day to me.

Ds and I went to the dentist this morning. Neither of us got good reports.

12-May-2008 @ 10:14:17am
I just powered up the new laptop. I'm starting to put all my programs on it. I like the feel of the keyboard, but I'm not thrilled with the feel of the touchpad. I might break down and buy a mouse. (Hmmmm. Dell has a matching sunshine yellow mouse on their website) I'll see how I do with it for a couple of weeks and then decide.

So far Vista is okay. Obviously, I have updated versions of everything I used (IE and Outlook) and they look different than what I'm used to using. But then again, I've only used it for fifteen minutes.

14-May-2008 @ 8:46:56am
I think I'll have orders coming in everyday this week and possibly Monday. :bounce:

Cooking Mexican Rice and Beans for church tonight.

Need to pack for tomorrow's crop. Also power crop so I can get alot pages done for my own album. Still making 8.5x11 pages, maybe 11x8.5 for these pages. I'm using the layouts from my mother's album since these are pix of her 70th birthday party that's next for me to sb. Using alot of DCWV's Far East stack for these. There's lots of scraps left from her album that I can use up for my pages.

I need to make some pearls tonight so I can take them tomorrow.

Gonna be busy tonight when we get home from church. I'll have the guys unload the food stuff and then load my sb stuff.

Well, another bit of family drama.

Jacob, Megan's 16 yr old brother, got arrested at school yesterday for disorderly conduct. It seems that the father of Megan's baby called her and told her he was gonna step up and be there for them and come see her. Then a while later Megan's best friend calls her and tells her that the baby's father called her and basically told her he only told Megan that stuff to "make Megan feel better" while in the hospital. Jacob called Megan about that time, and she was crying and told him what happened. Jacob tracked the baby's father down at school and tried to beat him up. Two teachers had Jacob tackled to the ground and he was able to get them off him. He never landed a punch, but they still called cops and he got arrested for disorderly conduct. His school year is now done. He was told he could finish his finals after school is done in two weeks.
I am not surprised this happened. He has been holding alot of stuff in.
So he is currently out in the front room on our air bed, cause his dad is up at the hospital with Megan all night, cause my sister is on her business trip til tonight.

Today I've gotten my 3 dozen ATG refills. Shouldn't be needing another order for the rest of this year and then some!

Also got my Stickles order. Such a small box for all that bling! Got them all to fit into a small tool box I got from Dollar Tree ages ago. Perfect.

Hmmm, problem. How do each look on paper? I've got the bottles upside down but is that its true color I'm seeing?

I'm gonna print out the names from the OP using white card stock. Then, I'll adhere a strip of black cardstock onto the right side of the left side of the list. Then I'll use a small bit of Stickles next to its name to see how it looks on white and black bg.

All part of my OCD. I consider this fun.

14-May-2008 @ 1:26:53pm
Got a whole lot of nothing done today. Not quite true, but nothing is completed, just a whole bunch of projects started and interrupted by ringing phones, crying parents and husbands who are home an hour earlier than expected.

14-May-2008 @ 1:35:31pm
Busy, busy, busy. I've been pretty much doing fly by posting just because of being so busy. We've been doing a lot of errand the last few days and getting ready to sell some of Brian's dad's things (Think Brian is having some problems with that but it's understandable and I'm trying to be supportive).

14-May-2008 @ 6:38:25pm

Oh I guess an update from me is in order! Let's see... no nanny, day 12. Seems to be going OK but I'm not getting a lot done, surprise, suprise. Meg's ballet recital was yesterday, and she was so stinkin' cute. My husband and I seem to be doing OK for once. Lots of drama with my mama. I'm working on my first digital kit for the scrapkit challenge -- I'll let you all know when the freebie megakit is posted at the end of the month! Um... runs in my mind there was something else I meant to post about but it's gone now. Oh well!

15-May-2008 @ 8:16:29pm
