The day after the day after
By: Klh

Okay so here it is, two days after Mom's day and I'm still soaking in the day. It was just a great day! My dh, my ds and I drove into Houston to spend the day with our dd's #1 and 2. We met up with them and my MIL, SIL and SIL's two dd's at Pappasitos for a tasty Mom's day lunch. It was packed! no surprise there But we enjoyed the wait, visiting and people watching. Then we went back to dd#1 apt. for coffee and dessert. Very relaxing and blessed. And no travel incidents going or coming!! Thank you Lord.

You know I think we spend most of our time trying to find that peaceful, relaxed attitude in the midst of chaos. We will go back over a great vacation or even just a great day, like Mom's day was so we can free our minds of the life we're living at the moment. But what really, truly gives me peace isn't the memory of those times (although they were good), it's resting in the Lord and His will for my life. I can get so sideways with what I want to do and where I think I should be. But if I just rest in Him, let Him control things I am so much happier. Today's verses of encouragement are Isaiah 43:1 "Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name and you are mine." Oh that just comforts my heart so much. I know I've been ransomed-Jesus paid for me with his blood shed on the cross. I love that part of the verse that says "you are mine." God is working out my life, I don't have to. I just have to obey what He works out. That's actually the easy part.

Even in scrapbooking the easy part is just putting adhesive on your stuff and laying it down. The hardest part is the layout, what kind of paper to use, what embellishments, what picture orientation works best. That's the "work" of scrapping. I realize I like the sticking down part. Yesterday at my lss, my boss asked me to do a couple of layouts, gave me all the papers, embellies, etc. and said "here it is, here is what I want on the page, do it." I love those kinds of assignments. No real brain work, just stick it down! That assignment was far easier to me than the one earlier in the year when she handed me pictures and asked for a 2 page layout. Yikes! I'd rather do the sticking down, please.

Today, after grocery shopping, housework and in the midst of doing laundry, I am going to scrap a completely lifted layout. I am not going to change one thing, but gather all the supplies called for (I hope I have them all) and just stick it down! And I have a great place for inspiration...the gallery!! It's is filled with the most beautiful layouts. I'm sure to find one I can lift!

Blessings and Happy Scrapping
