Explosion Box Album  

You will need at least 3 full sheets of coordinating PP, choose the heavier weight, preferably 2 sided, I used yummy Bohemia. If you use one sided paper, you will have to work a bit to embellish the reverse.  

Outer Box:

Take one full sheet of the chosen PP (12x12) Mark and score the sheet in 9 equal 4”x 4” squares. Fold on the line once and unfold. Cut as seen below (arrows):

Adhere photos and embellish the inside. Do not place photos/embellies in the center (the second part of the box will be glued there).  

Inner Box:

Take another full sheet of the chosen PP (12x12) and trim 1/8” of 2 sides (To get 11 7/8” x11 7/8” square). Mark 4" from each corner and score.  Fold along the lines. Cut as indicated below:

Depending on how many pics you want to use, you can cut out the 4 corners of the inner box for a smaller album.  You can also stack as many of these one inside the other (with 1/8" less each time).

If you decide to keep the flaps, you will notice that once folded, there is a flap of extra PP sticking out of each side (about 1/8”) that will need to be trimmed down (fold the box out, you will see)

Open the inner box, add photos and embellish all 9 squares.   Fold the inner box and note the 4 exterior flaps. Add pics and embellish. I used raffia to hold the inner box closed. Decorated paperclips can also be used… or nothing at all!   Adhere the inner box in the center of the outer box and fold closed.  

Top  

Measure a 6 1/8” x 6 1/8” square in another sheet of coordinating PP. Mark and score at 1” on each side. Fold on each line. Cut as indicated below:

Fold and adhere flaps under the larger piece Embellish top and sides of the box as desired. A big taffeta ribbon can be used to close the box, all ready to give away!!
