That's right, I created this project just for you - my friends at scrapbook.com. This is a great idea for Mother's Day (you know it's in less than a month right?). This is something that she could display all year long and Mom always loves a handmade, heartmade gift. Scrapbook.com has all the supplies you need and I am including the instructions below. Give Mom something from the heart this year!
Love Wood Letter Instructions: 1. Stain or paint edges of each wood piece to match paper. I used a pale teal. 2. Refer to photos for placement before you cut your paper. Decoupage paper to each wood letter as shown. 3. Cut a picture to fit the tag. Use a round jump ring to hang picture tag from ribbon. 4. Embellish each letter with ribbon and dimensional stickers.
General Decoupage Instructions: 1.Place paper face down on work surface. Place wood piece face down on paper. Make sure wood piece is positioned over the part of the paper that you want to show on the front. 2. Trace around wood with an X-acto knife, cutting the paper as you go. 3. Apply a layer of decoupage medium with a sponge brush to the front side of the wood. Place paper cutout onto the wet glue, line up edges and rub down. Remove wrinkles and bubbles by pressing gently with a popsicle stick, working from the center out. 4. Apply another coat of decoupage medium on top of paper to seal. Allow time to dry. 5. Lightly sand around edges of the wood to sand off excess paper.
