Rex and Lilly Schooltime by Laurie Krasny Brown. Erin's challenge was to read a book and then do crafts/activities inspired by that book.

Miss Lilly enjoyed the book, well enough, esp when it was over and it was picture time. This book is divided into three chapters, "Show and Tell", "Want to Trade", and "Lilly Reads". We used the chapter titles as are activity guide. Our activities include Show and Tell and Lilly Reads. We also did Trading, however, my camera card was full, so no pictures.

After hearing about Rex and Lilly's show and tell experience, Miss Lilly wanted to show off her newest toy, found at bl's for a whopping $2. Her back teeth are in, and she chewing up all her other toys. She's hoping this toy will last awhile, since it's made for a bigger dog. And she points out, as an added bonus, it squeaks.

Want to Trade?

The second chapter is titled "Want to Trade?" For this activity, we used the 'drop it' commend Lilly knows so well. Lilly picked up a dryer sheet (a no no), I said 'drop it' she dropped it, and I gave her a treat. (She traded the dryer sheet for a dried banana piece). We will continue trading in the future, each time Lilly has something she shouldn't, we trade her that item for a treat.

The last chapter is called "Lilly Reads" and as you can see here, Lilly is taking her turn at reading the book. Isn't she cute?

(now, I must go hide, I see the men in the white coat coming to take me away, hehe, to the funny farm)
