Brady passed away after a hard fought battle with Leukemia early this morning May 24, 2008. He was my rock and I'm not sure that I know how to live without him. He's in the arms of Jesus now, or possibly playing guitar for him! The pain was horrible and in the bones so the pain medications only allowed him to rest but didn't take away the pain. Bad news I'm afraid. The leukemia blast cells are multiplying at an alarming rate and he has to start Chemo again on Thursday morning. There will be no going home to rebuild and rest. Right now he is still experiencing debilitating pain all over. He can't move without pain. He also has so much fluid on him he looks like a balloon about to burst. They are trying to get the fluid off but it is being very resistant to their efforts. His platelets are so consistently low that he has huge purple ...

Well, we are in the 4th week of the 30 day treatment. This week is supposed to be the worst. So far that has been true. His white blood cell count got so extremely low and he got an infection from the tunneled IV catheter in his right chest. So they had to come in and put a PICC line (different kind of IV catheter) into his right arm. Then a different surgeon came in today and removed the infected one. He started having severe muscle and joint pain yesterday but it seems to be getting a bit bet...

Well, so far everything is going quite well. He finished the Chemo last Sunday and did very well. Just a touch of nausea and a lot of exhaustion.
This week he has been doing very well also. Right now (and for the next two weeks) they are just monitoring him for signs of infection and keeping up with his hemoglobing and platelet numbers.
