Picked out pattern paper, solid color paper, and a few embellishments.
Sorted through photos and printed out the best. (This took several days and a trip to Staples for more ink cartridges & paper.)
Retouched a few photos in Photoshop. Common reasons; adjusted exposure and added missing edges (usually the top of the photo).
Trimmed photos and laid out on pattern paper (no glue).
Sorted through trip memorabilia and laid out on pages (no glue).

It's wonderful that men scrap and contribute to their wifes/gf scrapping. We should all encourage it more.
10 ways to get your guy more involved in scrapbooking
1) Show him a cropadile. He will want to help you use it.
2) Ask him to do some journaling. What does he remember most?
3) Ask his opinion on what photos, paper, etc. to use.
4) Ask him to help you organize. Guys love to make shelving.

"Scraplifting" is a very interesting topic. Hardcore scraplifting is when you are really copying someone else’s work. Example: same layout, same title (be it the same words, position, type), same elements, etc. It is duplicating someone else’s work (even if you change it up a little).

I use thin 12 x 12 plastic dividers that come with 12 x 12 Artbin boxes to protect my pages while working on them. Sheets of Plexiglas would also do the trick.
The dividers serve three purposes.
The first is underneath my page protecting the edges. I was always inadvertently creasing my paper and denting the corners. I would be concentrating so hard on what I was doing I would not realize part of my page was off the table and getting crushed (probably by the girls).

I gave inchies a try today and made quite a few for Birthday cards. 1" x 1" seemed awfully small and my fingers very large as I worked on these mini squares. Next time I think I make 2" x 2" or 3" x 3". http://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/image/layout/1510003.html
