#51 Update blog   (18 comments, 117 views) Friday, 22 February 2008
Please leave comments with highlights of the week for those that can't be online as much as they would like to. Makes it easier to "catch up"!

I stayed up late (6 am) to finish an audio book. Got up at 9:30. Started redoing things and cleaning, cleaning, cleaning in my kitchen/dining room. Maybe it's sleep deprivation or too much caffeine but I'm noticing so many things that needs to be done! Must sleep more and drink less coffee.

I'm converting some flat sheets for new curtains in my dining room. These are sliding glass doors that I need to cover up.

For a split second I thought my hubby was going to redeem himself last night!!
For the last 6 months our airline tickets have been hanging on the wall over my desk. Of coarse they came down to paint. Last night I was in an all out hunt for them, found everything else on that wall except the tickets, an hour later I was beginning to frak and hubby was po'd. I found them mixed in with some work stuff. He hugged me, which felt so good it almost made me cry. He got all concerned and "Honey what is wrong." "Nothing" "No tell me" "i'm fine" "You're not fine, what's wrong" So loving, so kind, so concerned...
I said "I just feel like I just can't do anything right this week" Did he wrap his arms around me and tell me everything would be all right?

Nope he harrumphed me and threw up his hands and walked away

Well, let's see...so far today I have walked 30 minutes on the treadmill, taken ds to the walkin clinic at our peds office (7AM-8AM) to the hospital for xrays, saw 2 CPAP patients, then took the puppy to the vet. Then the pediatrician called and ds's toe is fractured, so we had to pick up a prescription and go get a surgical shoe, which he was thrilled about until he started out of the pharmacy and looked at the mounds of snow and slush!

I still have a conference call, two more patients, and a ton of paperwork to do. Not to mention my to-do list at home!

Well I have not been on too often over the last few days. Just been hanging out with DH before he leaves for Scotland on Monday. But the big news is that we adopted a dog last night! We had been getting ready all week for him and we are so excited! We were not supposed to get him until Saturday but he was getting attacked by another dog that he was living with so the day got moved up. We had gone shopping Wed night but I was planning on cleaning up the apartment for him last night but did not have time. So I cleaned up tonight when he was looking at me like "what in the world is she doing?" He is just the sweetest little thing, loves to cuddle with us, but we are having a hard time getting him used to the crate because we are going to crate train him at night and when we are at work. I feel that this is the safest place for him and he is not 100% house broken or not used to being in his new home.
So we are going to work with him this weekend to try and get him used to the crate and let him know that it's not a punishment but just going to be his home. Its hard because he is not used to it and he barks and barks and crys alot!

It has been a crazy week for me. I don't see a let up in my schedule for about the next month. I have a lot to do for my paying job which has been running past a normal work day. Bummer to that is I'm salaried so I'm not getting paid for it!.

Plus I've got the Resource Fair for Special Needs on March 2. Myself and one other woman pull this whole thing together every year. It grows each year too! I've got organizations and families from several counties away contacting me about it!! There is a real need for this.

Right on the heels of that, I have the Speaker of the House (PA) and the PA Director of Bureau of Autism Services both coming to speak at my March support group meeting. So there is a bunch of coordination required to get that agenda and registrations together!

Plus I've got the search for an executive director of the ambulance squad going at the same time!

And - I need to re-do the IEP for my oldest.

Two thoughts come to mind...

Life comes at you fast......

and Just breathe!!!!!!!!

Finally got out of the house today for the first time since Wednesday. Went to HL to spend a bday gift card (and a little extra). Had a REALLY hard time not spending ALL my bday money, but want to wait until the right things have the right sale. I did get one of those punches that can do borders, circles, ovals, squares or corners. Can't wait to experiment with it.

Little Man still has a cold and is quite clingy. Clingy to me if I'm around, then he prefers mom, then Papaw - in that order. He's had a rough couple of days in the bump-and-bruise department. Ran into the corner of our dining room archway yesterday, collided with his bedroom door this morning, did SOMETHING yesterday evening that left him with a swollen/red eye - the swelling was almost gone this morning, but there are scratches on his eyelid. And he took a tumble down the stairs this morning - I was at the bottom waiting for him to come down, so he fell about halfway before I could get to him and stop him. It was almost funny...one of those slow motion, rolling on down kind of things. Scared him more than anything - two minutes later, he was up and trying it again. *sigh*

On Saturday the 23rd I was supposed to go to Crop Convention but decided to stay home. Sad that I missed it but glad that I didn't go because I really needed the rest.

On Sunday the 24th, I made that Sweet Pea Salad for my church's potluck lunch. Then hosted my crop there. There were 4 young girls and another mom there with me cropping. We had a good time. I got 16 pages started. Now need to work on finishing those up.

Tonight I hope to make it to my library's book club meeting. I've got some overdue books and audios. :o Bad me!

I started feeling off/bad yesterday. I think I've got a cold. Will be nursing myself today. And scrapping, well, blinging my layouts. :D

I didn't make it to the book club meeting. Needed to stay close to my bathroom. :( Feeling better now but not 100%.

Need to go shopping tomorrow and still haven't decided what to make. I may just do Salisbury Steak since it's fairly easy. Mashed potatoes and green beans.

popping in from Disney. I will be posting in my LiveJournal quite frequently, since I can post from my phone - www.moxiegirl23.livejournal.com . We're having a blast. I've taken tons of pictures and Abby and I ditched John to go on Splash Mountain. We're being treated like royalty, and I even have a potential CM recruit! Exhausted, so I'm going to go to bed soon.

Hi, back from Disney! Had a blast. Three hour snow delay before taking off -- we were the next plane in queue for de-icing before they closed the airport. Meg is now a Small World and Speedway junkie. Not to mention princess addict, but that's nothing new. Many photos to come.

UGH-my dad just got diagnosed with Influenza B.

Can I just live here in my office for a week?
Naa, he's been sick since Thursday, so I already got exposed.

OH MAN,I just realized, Megan got exposed too.

UPDATE: Dad never "got tested" for influenza, the doctor told him he "has it" and put him on the flu meds without testing him.
The reason I thought he was tested, was because my mom starts the discussion with, "Well now we have become a statistic."
I had even asked did he test positive for A or B and she told me B. (Smacks head on wall several times.)
Sometimes she thinks she has to be the "smartest, most knowledgable" person in the room and feels she has to give a "smart" answer.
So last night I asked my dad, so how did that swab feel? (They use this nasty metal swab up the nasal tract for influenza testing.) He says, "What swab?"
(Smacks head on wall several times again.)

Got the Salisbury Steaks cooking, and the Green Beans prepared. Will make the instant potatoes right before we leave. I'll get someone else to serve the food tonight.

I've washed my hands so much they're kinda raw now.

Everything went really well with the dinner. I had someone do the food serving so that I'd not have a sneezing/coughing fit while handling the food.

Worked out really well.

Today, I start the babysitting. Got alot to clean and get ready for the day. Won't be on much.

Set up the poll for February's Bling Challenge.

Tink is searching for Diet Coke, can't find any in her area. She's upset!

Life is still crazy. The Special Needs Resource Fair is this weekend. I'll be glad when it is done. Then I've got to concentrate on the search for an exec. director for the ambulance squad. Work keeps going, good bad or indifferent!

I barely see my hubby anymore. We are both too busy. I'm contemplating leaving the support group that I run for parents with special needs kiddos. I'm just spinning too many plates in the air. Going to wait and think on this a bit.

I need to learn to say "no"

Oh - just found out that dad needs a hip replacement. He is getting scheduled for that surgery.

And my mom has been diagnosed with skin cancer. She starts treatments tomorrow.
