Just made Resurrection Cookies with my two grandsons. They can't understand why they have to wait until morning to eat any. lol.

Baby's sick again. *sigh*

Other than that, it was a good Easter.

DD threw me for a loop the other night when she mentioned that she's actually working on a plan to get out of the house and get into a place with at least one friend. After an initial bout of "MY BABYYYYY!!!!!", I'm now helping her brainstorm possible roomie scenarios. :lol:

Happy Easter.

Let's see nothing new really going on here. The kids had a good Easter and got way to much Candy (We got way to much candy too). We never did get to dye eggs (Just didn't happen with the week we had). I'm still on spring break until tomorrow and sometime this week I need to start my Non-western myth and have no clue what to do it on (It'll come to me eventually, just need to spend a few days thinking about it). Other than that life as normal (or as normal as it can be at the moment).

Have a blessed Easter!!!

We had a great Egg Hunt party yesterday.. it was a chance for 2 small groups to meet and relax and have some fun together. We also asked some other friends to join. The kids had fun egg hunting, and some are still hunting well after the meal! Our friend helped us to BBQ some delicious burgers and hot dogs, and everyone brought along some great yummy dishes: we had honey baked ham, stir friend vermicelli, mini quiche, pasta salad, cheese & broccoli casserole. We alos made oriental chicken salad, sesame spinach salad and fruit salad, which I forgot to bring out until half of the guests are gone! :duh: For dessert, our friends brought ice cream puffs, almond jello, and a Malaysian taro tapioca dessert soup. The kids also love our home baked cookies!

Audrey did well with her fundraising, sold all of the cookies and a few of the eggs. She ganged up on the adults with 2 of her friends (1 of them was her BFF from last year and now she goes to a different school.. Audrey insisted on inviting her and we're so glad we did!).

The biggest hit is our newly installed (proudly installed by DH) family toilet seat. No kidding, one of our friends discovered and was so excited about it, he almost called his wife on the cell phone to tell her about it... all the other guys all called their "honeys" to go take a look at this greatest invention on earth...

What do you get when you mix Rockets, Cows and a puppy?


We were out at my folks to celebrate Easter. Christopher brought along some of the rockets that he made. My dad had given him a nose cone that has a video camera in it for Christmas. So we brought that out so they could launch rockets together and try out the rocket camera.

Chris made certain that the parachute had a hole in it to help it return to earth after it's orbit. Not like some rockets that we launched there and NASA is still tracking them! 10..9..8..7..6..5..4..3..2..1.. BLAST OFF! The rocket went blasting into the air, and drifted slightly west. Then came down slowly drifting back to earth... right into a cow pasture!! Way far into the pasture I might add. We all ran down to try to see if we could spot the rocket out among the grazing guernseys

There it was, way down the hill in a bit of a ravine. The cows were well to the east of the rocket. DH climbed through the fence and headed down the hill with us shouting directions to him. Not long after that my sister says "help". She was holding Pepper’s leash (the puppy) and Pepper had crawled under the fence and was fiercely barking at the cows. Pepper squirmed and wriggled and was pulling herself loose from her harness. With that, pop - Pepper was out of the harness and sprinting toward the cows!!!

Patrick (my youngest) instinctively climbed through the PVC & electric fence to go after the dog. Then I climbed through to go after my little baby heading right into that mass of bovine brawn!! What a sight this must have been to see Patrick & I running down the hill screaming chasing an 18 pound puppy that appeared tiny compared to the 1500 pound cows she was chasing!! And as we are running we are doing our best not to slide in the mud or step in the "chips". Gotta brush up on my bovine scatology, but those patties sure did look a lot like the mud!!

Finally DH realizes that yelling he hears is getting closer to him, not staying up at the top of the hill on the other side of the fence... he turns to see Patrick & I crazily wrangling the herd, and little Pepper so delicately poised at the hooves of these creatures that weigh at least 75 times her weight!! He scoops her up and hands her off to me. With Pepper no longer chasing them, the cows stop running. But now they turn and charge at us!!!! Hugging Pepper close to my chest, I get one hand free to grab Patrick and push him up the hill towards the fence yelling "run Patrick". DH, realizing we are in peril, attempts to charge the cows. By now my sister has joined us in this rampage and is waving her arms to stop the cows, but every time we turn our backs to them, they stampede toward us!!!

FINALLY we made the crest of the hill. I hand Pepper over the fence to my sister’s boyfriend, Patrick & I squeeze through the fence and drop to the ground exhausted!!! We quickly re-harness the dog and tighhten up the fit!!!

As soon as we made it through the fence the cows got spooked and took off! They ran all the way down the hill and back to the right behind Jacob's barn!!!

After all this, we still did not have the rocket!! So Patrick heads back into the pasture and retrieves the rocket!!

Only to take it back to my folks house and find out that the video camera did not record!!! Guess we'll have to try launching it again!!

Begging time!

Even though I swore I wouldn't, I'm working on a fundraiser for Child Health Services of Manchester, a local non-profit. They're holding a Scrap-a-thon on Sunday April 6, 2008 from 9-9. I have a vendor table there, but I'm also asking for monetary donations to help them continue to provide health care to needy children. The person organizing it is at her wits end, because they took a wrong direction with the project and they are now not getting the response they thought they would. Oy veh. Babies and kids are still "not optimal." Will is finally starting to feel better. Meg is being very brave. Yesterday morning, while Meg was lying miserably on the couch watching "Meg TV," Jenny (who didn't hit her crisis unti late last night) crawled over to her and handed Meg her binky. It actually brought tears to my eyes. My kids have the sweetest spirits!

I had a quiet Easter. Had the ham dinner the night before since I had to WORK Easter Sunday (night). I usually don't work Easter, but my request off was somehow "missed." I'm not stupid, it wasn't missed. Oh, well...other than that, I've been playing with my new Cricut Expression and HP all-in-one printer/scanner/copier.

On the kid front: Jory is doing great, enjoyed spending time with his grandparents over spring break. He, too, is loving the Cricut (I'm cutting him out a bunch of J's) and can't wait until I get the Dreams Come True cart so I can make him Rajahs. Lizzie is a typical five-year-old: independent yet clingy and is going through the "five-year-old silly stage." She, too, enjoyed spending time with her grandparents over spring break. (And Momma enjoyed 24 hours kid-free: Lizzie went to "Paw Paw Jimmy's" Monday through Wednesday and Jory went to my mom's Tuesday through Thursday.)

Me, I'm doing all right. Fair to middlin, I expect. I've discovered Jeff Dunham and his puppets and the man is HILARIOUS. Whenever I need a laugh I turn to YouTube and Jeff Dunham.

For Resurrection Sunday, we went to Red Lobster for lunch after church. :D

Monday, dh and ds took SPOCK (our eldest kitty) and Jewel (our Beagle mix) to the vet. Son failed his permit test.

Tuesday, I took dd to get a root canal procedure done. Dh and ds took the boys with them. Son passed his permit test this time. Dd and I had a major blow up. Wednesday she claims to have no memory of Tuesday until late in the afternoon. :shrugs:

Wednesday, I made my version of Mexican Beans and Rice. Fed a small crowd of only 24 people.

Today, we're gonna check out a building that the person/company we're thinking of going with built. We're also gonna stake out the dimensions and make sure that's what we wanna do.

We're finally healthier. Now if I could just get DGS back on a decent sleep schedule. He has pulled one of his whiplash-inducing schedule changes, deciding that he's just fine going to bed anywhere from 10 to 11 and getting up anywhere from 7 to 9 and then maybe-but-not-always napping in the afternoon. Or maybe falling asleep in the car for just 10 minutes but that's enough.

It's killing my ability to get anything else done, lemme tell ya.

Hubby will be gone this weekend to help an aunt with some family history hunting. DD is swamped with homework this week. That means I'll be more in charge of the kid than usual. I need to plan things to do...places to go...

yeah EVERYTHING is about money anymore.
I am so sick of it.
I am sick of the housing market pricing people out of their dream homes they are already in.
I am sick of the BIG man kicking the little man around.
I am sick of people losing their homes left and right.
I am sick of a certain father not dealing with his issues and drinking himself out of a family. (Again)
I am sick of seeing two teenagers not have a stable father to look up to and instead have things to deal with like pregnancy, failing grades and a mother who had to run off to Reno for the weekend cause she is almost in nervous breakdown mode.
