My laptop is an ex-laptop, to borrow a phrase that's going around the thread right now. John's co-worker has determined that there's more wrong with it than a potentially failing harddrive. It's not worth having him take it apart to diagnose the rest of the problems with it. So I get to go laptop looking. I'm a little pissy, because if I had known this information yesterday, I could've ordered the laptop I wanted for a cheaper price than it is going for today. Dell's current sale ends on Monday, so I'll check on Tuesday to see what they're going for then. Hopefully there will be a good sale since the stimulus checks are going out early.

Had a meeting with son's guidance counselor. I really wish dh would let son stay in public school even with all its faults. Home schooling will be a real challenge for dh. He's stressing and he's not even started yet.
I behaved well and mostly kept my mouth shut.
Been working on my room. Need to redo some layouts for my sister's album. I'm going to Florida Tuesday so I want both albums totally done and get them out of my house. Then it's back to my mother's album.
I'm listening to "Seize the Night" by Dean Kootnz. Odd but good. Hope the ending is good. Please...
I've got a crop that I'm hosting this Sunday. Otherwise it's mainly scrapping tonight and tomorrow.

Having an anxiety issue right now. Adjusted my meds yet again, and I'm also waiting on things to finish falling into place. Had to really fight with john this weekend, because I couldn't get my point across any other way. Not the best thing to do, and I know it could've been handled better on my end, but I didn't have any tools available to me at the time. I do, now.

hi ladies. My name is Dee and I am really new to the site. Came across the VCW thread tonight and really enjoyed chatting with a few of you. I am looking forward to getting to know more of you.
A little bit bout me... I am a grandmother of 1 darling 16 month old girl. You can see some of my videos of her at http://www.livevideo.com/deedeedavis and pics of her at http://www.aaproductions.org/karissa-jan2008
She is my love of my life and keeps me feeling young cuz she has so much energy that I don't have time to feel old when I am trying to keep up with her!...lol
My husband died of brain cancer a few years back. So life has not been any bed of roses.... but things could be worse.
I am a stay at home mom for the most part...( even though my kids are grown now). I am a sub teacher when needed and run my own business ( http://www.aaproductions.org ). Web design and hosting.
Well that is about it...

BTW, since I haven't been around for a couple days....
DD went to her party Saturday night. Got home about 3:45. (The baby had fussed just before, so I was awake to hear her come in.) Didn't even try to get her up for church Sunday.
DH, the baby & I were at a lunch at church after service when DD called. She'd gotten up, fixed herself a PB&J, and gotten about halfway through it when she got sick. I think she was sick one more time before we got home. She's been running a fever and sleeping a lot since then. She also is back to her stomach problems - she's always needed to stay on a somewhat regular eating schedule. If she skips a meal (like she did Saturday evening while getting ready to leave) (although I think this is more than just skipping a meal), I think her blood sugar gets off. She'll be nauseous enough that she doesn't feel like eating, but if she can force down something, it'll help her feel better. So she's had two days now of feeling queasy if she eats and feeling queasy if she doesn't eat. :sigh:
OH! And this party was out in the middle of some field full of potholes and stones/rocks. She stepped in one hole and twisted her ankle really badly. And at another point she did something so that we're pretty sure she broke a toe. (It's such a pretty shade of [color:purple]purple[/color].)
She has felt so rough today that she went to her chemistry class for this evening, turned in some homework, and convinced the teacher to let her wait until next Monday to take the three exams that they were to be doing tonight.
And DGS is sick, too. I think I posted already that he threw up between the time we put him to bed and the time he went to sleep last night. Well, he hasn't done that anymore, but he HAS been running a fever all day. (Just in time for his 18-month check-up tomorrow, don'tcha know.)
So I've been busy with two sickies.
I did manage to get out yesterday afternoon for a bit and get some badly needed new clothes.
There's something going on every evening the rest of this week - we're meeting our "adopted" college student for dinner tomorrow before he finishes his semester and goes home for the summer; Wednesday DD has class in the afternoon and DH leads a Bible study that evening; Thursday evening I'm doing my shadowing at the hospital; Friday we're invited to our friends' house for a game night to celebrate his 50th birthday; Saturday DD has the bachelorette party that evening and I'm still trying to decide whether I can be gone all day; Sunday I need to get to Columbus (OH) (4-hour drive each way) for a committee meeting for Marcon.
So if you don't see much of me..... :)

DGS & DD still sick. DGS running fever unless we keep him dosed with Tylenol. DD still just generally feeling blah and fighting that queasy thing.
Took the baby for his 18-month check-up today. He's still officially tall and skinny - 90th percentile for height, 10-25th percentile for weight. :)
Got the things I needed for Finals Survival Kits for DD and for our "adopted" college student. Had dinner with the student this evening. He has two of his four finals finished already, but I gave him the stuff anyhow. (We hadn't had a chance to get together in nearly a month.)

I went/came to Florida on Tuesday. Hung wall paper for a friend, pix in gallery, Tuesday night.
Wednesday fixed lid to sister's trash can. One of those foot pedal types that raises the lid. The plastic pin/peg that kept the lid on and aligned was broken on one side. I replaced it with a metal rod.
Tomorrow morning I'll install curtain rods and hang sheers for sister. I'm recharging the drill's battery tonight. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. lol
We'll also be driving back tomorrow. I plan on stopping by Super Joann's on our way out.
And concrete was poured today, too. Can't wait to see that!

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been around much! I've been trying to stay ahead of that crazy filled-up hard drive, and trying my hand at designing my own papers. Oh, and writing an article and doing two layouts for the Treasures to Scrap newsletter... which I think comes out tomorrow (or I guess that's today!) so sign up over there (it's free) and snag a copy (it's also free!). My article is sort of a very basic article on doing extractions in digital sbing, if anyone is interested. Still so behind on other projects though, and my in-laws are visiting for the weekend. Crazy crazy crazy!

I took oldest ds to have the xray done. Trying to figure out why his ribs are deformed. They are thinking that he has a condition where one side of his body is larger than the other.
This kiddo already sees an ortho for scoliosis, and leg length discrepancy. Seems there is more to it.
This is on top of the Aspergers, ADHD, OCD, ODD, {other alphabet soup members}
It's probably not anything life endangering. I'm hoping that other kids don't notice it and tease him. And that it doesn't damage his already minimal and very fragile self confidence.

I'm back home in SC now. Been a very full week and it's not finished yet.
I did get the hardware and curtains up for my sister.
Did go to Super Joann's bought 4 boxes of Zots (glue dots) two minis and two 1/2 inchers. AND two stacks of DCWV Solid Glitter stacks. I'll be using these up pretty fast!
I also got my nephew to give up diapers before I left. He's been using the toilet and around the toilet all day. Sister is thrilled and hoping her dd will start soon, too.
Concrete did get poured but the wall isn't finished. Hope they'll do that tomorrow.
