Oh Boy I've been tagged twice. These are the rules. Each player starts with 7 random fact about themselves on their My Place Blog. People who are tagged need to blog 7 facts about themselves and post the rules as well. At the end of their blog list 7 people you are tagging. Let them know that they are tagged by leaving them a comment.
1. I turned the big 5-0 in May. 2. I've homeschooled my youngest son for eleven years. 3. I am a widow. 4. I was a foster child and a foster parent. 5. I knew Dave Pelzer growing up (author of "A Child Called It'') 6. I love to shop at thrift stores. 7. Last year, I bought a $3 toy at a thrift store and I discovered inside it a ring, which I took to a jeweler and it was appraised for $11,000.00!
I'm tagging:
1. Betty Lou 2. Fresh New Pages 3. DeAnna Johnson 4. Tyfanni 5. Kates Creations 6. Mommy2Skylar 7. ScrapJoy

WOW... Well.. Happy Belated Birthday day!
Homeschooling takes a lot of work.. So well done!
I too love to shop in thrift stores.. You would be surprised the scrapping items I have found LOL And way to go on the ring!! I remember buying a toy on ebay a while back for my oldest daughter. It was 15.00. She ended up getting the same one from some one else so I sold it to a collector and they offered 100.00 for it!! LOL Great to get to know you.. even if it is little facts here and there!

Ok I owe you a comment on your blog and I have been thinkin all afternoon about what to write in my lil ole 100 word essay! So here goes!
Lost & Found
Pity the poor soul
who lost thier treasure!
They looked high and low
up and down for good measure!
It was gone, it was lost
no where to be found!
Everything searched, everything tossed,
every crack, every cranny, even the ground!
A little boy's toy
with a zipper down its back.
Cconcealed a little joy,
a sweet little nick nack.
Just waiting for you
to pick up your find.
That's just what you do
narry a thought in your mind.
That inside that toy
is a precious little gem.
So wear it with joy
or just on a whim!
ok thats all ya get LOL! My brain hurts lol!!!

Oh gee, we have even MORE in common than loving pink and cats and being 50! I also was once widowed (10 years ago), and he and I used to haunt thrift stores and auctions! And "A Child Called IT"--one of the most moving books I've ever read! I'm enjoying your blog--thanks for sharing.

Well, I added the tag thing to my Blog late last night. I was so tired, I don't remember now of I tagged all the ones I named, but I wanted to tag more than that! So I can read and learn about others too!
Loved reading yours Cheryl!! So cool about the ring! And I like the TOY!
God is so good!
Had a great time in prayer with a friend last night!
So tired today, but will go lay down so able to function for appointment later!
I have a prayer request: I would like t o move this summer. I have not once felt at home in this apt, and I'm a make any place my home kind of person who loves to decorate. Please pray God shows me what to do & that provision will come to move. Can't sell off all you own to move when you already did that! LOL! I'd love to have a little house with a yard, but even an apt with a small yard would be great. I NEED sunlight for my health & well being! And want to plant flowers! THANKS!

Interesting story. I'm sure it takes a lot of dedication to home school a child. That is really great that you could "give back" by being a foster care mom. Good things happen to good people..... the ring find. I love to shop our local thrift stores, too. I love the cottage/shabby chic look and find lots of great things to turn into treasure.

Did you keep the ring? Do you have a picture of it? I am very curious as to what an $11,000.00 ring found in a toy looks like.
