"DUSTING"   (17 comments, 57 views) Friday, 06 June 2008
" A HOUSE BECOMES A HOME WHEN YOU CAN WRITE
"I LOVE YOU" ON THE FURNITURE."

I can't tell you how many countless hours that I have spent CLEANING!

I used to spend at least 8 hours every weekend making sure things things were just perfect- "in case someone came over." Then I realized one day that no-one came over; they were all out living life and having fun!

Now, when people visit, I find no need to explain the "condition" of my home. They are more interested in hearing about the things I've been doing while I was away living life and having fun! If you haven't figured this out yet, please heed this advice.

Life is short. Enjoy it! Dust if you must, but wouldn't it be better to paint a picture or write a letter, bake a cake or plant a seed, ponder the difference between want and need?

Dust if you must, but there's not much time, with rivers to swim and mountains to climb, music to hear and books to read, friends to cherish and life to lead.

Dust if you must, but the world's out there with the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair, a flutter of snow, a shower of rain. This day will not come around again.

Dust if you must, but bear in mind, old age will come and it's not kind. And when you go -and go you must- you, yourself will make more dust!

Share this with all the wonderful people in your life! I JUST DID.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Oh yea, And remember..... a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it!

Cheryl this is amazing...It's right up my ally of refusing to dust!!! It's on the list of things to do...but certaintly not at the top...if I have done all the other things...to get to dusting...I'm done!!! I dust an average of four times a year...I'm so bad...but Hey, I like to live life...and have better things to do...

Wow, I love this, I need to copy this to send to a few people, including myself. We do spend way too much time dusting and not enough time just living.

Love,
Bobbie

I am so glad I ran into this, Cat scrap, I have you on my blog list but I have been so busy dusting, that I haven't kept up with reading the blogs. lol lol Just kidding!!!! i can almost always write my name on furniture in most rooms at all times. My hang up is clean floors, that drives me nuts!!My Mother was a dusting fanatic, and I think i rebeled on that. I am sending this to one of my daughters that can't do anything unless her house is just right, tfs

I agree!! I believe there is much more to life then worrying about how much dust is in my house and it shows. I love this wonderful poem and will pass it on to many of my friends ! :)

Funny thing, I was just telling myself this morning, "I HAVE NO LIFE",
or "time for just me"!

Throughout their childhood, my kiddos have written 'I LOVE YOU'
many times on the furniture, and not using fingers in the dust either! LOL
('RESOLVE' that one!)

Wait (hold that thought for a sec)

Hmmmm
(looking across pc area & glancing at the end table next to the sofa)
I have a chance to go write myself a note (in the dust)! LOL

that 'one thing' always leads to another 'fun & exciting' chore! LOL

OK GIRLS, LET'S SEE, IF YOU LOOK AT AN ANGLE...(TILT HEAD TO THE RIGHT)
you can see I wrote my blog on the other end table too,
that's only because I have no time to do so online! LOL

Thanks for sharing your thoughts ladies :)
At least I didn't have to make multiple 'house calls' to read them! LOL

GEES, ALL OUT OF WHITE GLOVES HERE!
