I am so excited (and a little scared) to be starting at a new university this year. I will be moving to a new state and a new school all at the same time. I'm scared because I don't know if I am going to do well in the program. I will be at Duke University in Durham, NC in the Department of Religion, specializing in Hebrew Bible and Ethics. I am terrified to leave for North Carolina. I do not use the word terrified lightly, only when I really feel that way. And this is one of those times. I have no idea what I am going to do. I am dreading leaving for no real reason. Other than fear of the unknown, there is no rational reason I should be so afraid to leave here to move to N.C. I have gone to school in a new place before. I always took it for granted that everyone in my family would get a college degree. Our family is very committed to education. But as I am witnessing how hard it is for my cousins and brother to graduate and go to college, I am realizing that I should truly be proud of my accomplishment. I received my undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Arts in Theological Studies, on May 12, 2007.
