Maybe it never ends?

My youngest ds (age 13) just told me 3 nights ago that he has a girlfriend. My 14 year old has never even thought of girls yet, so you can imagine my shock! I tried to act cool, ask the right questions, and make sure this 'relationship' is all in the right perspective . . . and it seems to be. There was some pride in my little boy growing up and taking a next step, but also some heartache that my babies may be gone.
Last night ds called me into his room as he was falling asleep and asked "Mom, can you sing to me?" So there I was singing "Somewhere over the Rainbow" just like I had so long ago when he was little. Maybe it never ends! Maybe in some way they stay their momma's babies forever! Well, probably not - but can they grow up just a little slower?

How sweet! I think my 19 yr old son would let me sing him a chorus of" You Are My Sunshine" yet! lol
