Silk flowers --- only printed!   (19 comments, 1815 views) Thursday, 31 May 2007
Welcome!
Altering silk flowers by stamping and using an inkjet printer
is so easy and looks so cool! And, although stamping and printing may bleed into the flower fabric, it prints great if it's treated first with THE PERFECT PRINTING POUCH! Just a tap the pouch to release the powders and wipe the flower to embed the powders and voila!  You may not even need the Perfect Printing Pouch depending upon the flower and ink brand, and your tolerance for bleeding...just experiment!

I can't wait see what some creative person will do with it on a layout or card!

Stamping:
These cream silk flower petals were stamped
with dye ink ..the one on the left is untreated and the one on the right is treated with THE PERFECT PRINTING POUCH. See how much crisper and less bleedy it is?

Inkjet Printing:
I wrote a few lines of verse about flowers and printed it onto regular inkjet paper. I found some fake flowers in my craft closet and pulled a layer off.  I ironed it flat and sprayed it with an adhesive spray (the same as I do when I'm printing on vellum or just about anything else!) Then I stuck it to the paper right over the printed words. I tapped
one side of the with THE PERFECT PRINTING POUCH and wiped it to embed the powders which were released from tapping. (In real life, I would have treated the entire flower but I wanted you to be able to see the difference!)  Finally, I sent the paper back through the printer (it prints the same message in the same location) so it prints right onto the flower.  Just remove from the paper and VOILA!

Compare the right and left sides.
(The right side was treated by wiping the flower with THE PERFECT PRINTING POUCH before inkjet printing...but I bet you could have guessed that!)

If you would like more information about the pouch, pm me or check out  this entry:  http://scrapbook.com/blogs/28018/view/76173.html
