Holiday cards and eco-stuff   (3 views) Friday, 07 December 2007

I have been so busy lately!  I am still working on the holiday cards I give as gifts.  I have made 20 packs of five cards for gifts to my nursing assistants and co-workers.  I love doing it and they are crazy about the cards.  So nice to be appreciated.  Anyway, I am wrapping that project up tomorrow.

Next on my list, organize my scrap room.  I really need to get that done so I can be more productive on my upcoming projects.  I need to week things out.  There are a couple of folks at work that would love to have some of my unused supplies.

I have been working hard to return to my preferred eco-friendly lifestyle and I have incorporated some of this into my paper crafting.  I will be keeping any holiday cards we receive, as well as asking for others to give me their cards, or at least the fronts of them.  I intend to use the images to make holiday gift tags for next year.  I can give those as gifts as well as cards.  Reusing in this way will keep some of the holiday waste out of the landfills, at least for a while.

Also, my company holiday party was last night.  I kept the "disposable" plate I had for my meal.  It is a high quality plastic that can be washed.  That will be used over and over for acrylic paints.

Next, I want to get a paper making kit to use up even the smallest of my paper scraps.  The resulting handmade paper will be perfect for cards.

I have kept the coffee can we just emptied.  Actually, they are plastic now, not really a "can".  Anyway, I am going to alter it with scraps and embellishments and use it for a table top scrap can.  Actually, I will probably do several-they would make great gifts for my scrapping buddies.  I may use more than one myself.  One for actual trash, another for scraps to be used in paper making.

So, I have a lot lined up and I can't wait to get started!
