Tell about the first house you can remember living in.

It was the house we lived in when I was born.  I even remember the address and we moved from there when I was 5. It was a little 2-bedroom house in Kansas City, Missouri. Most of the other houses on the block were similar to ours.

I remember hardwood floors, white kitchen cabinets and a flowered carpet in the living room (1950's style), but what I remember most is the white ruffled shears criss-crossed at the windows. Other memories are related to the pictures I have of that time. 

When I was five years old, my parents bought a lot in the suburbs near Independence, Missouri, and hired my mom's cousin to build a house on it.  They wanted to move into a better school district before I started school.  I have lots of memories of that house as I lived there from age 5 to 14.
