Today (it's after midnight!) has been declared an inclement weather day! I have declared it cardmaking day! I have the March/April issue of Paper Crafts for inspiration, and I need to make thank you cards (my mom passed away almost 3 weeks ago). Back to school today with my students. It's the start of a new semester, which means a clean slate! My class finished reading The Giver today. The kids have really enjoyed this book. tomorrow we will brainstorm what could happen to the main character next, since Lois Lowry kind of leaves the reader hanging at the end! Then they will choose one or more events to write an additional ending to the book. I can't wait to see what they come up with!

I had a very nice day off today. After all of the trama of the last few days, I laid in bed and watched tv, read, and played on my computer. I had cleaned house Saturday, so I felt no guilt about needing to clean house! I feel refreshed now, and reay to go to work for a teacher workday tomorrow to get ready for the new semester. My sister is returning to her home in Washington state, so dad will be on his own, without mom around. I live about 30-45 minutes away from him, so I'm reasonably close ...

I have uploaded some digital pictures that I took over the holidays in Ft. Worth, TX. My boyfriend and I had a great time wandering around, snapping photos. Most of these I posted I edited in HP Photosmart and then framed for my parents (my mom was alive on Christmas Day. I haven't posted the portraits of the kids that I gave her). It has been a long time since I visted this site, and my blog. Lots has changed. In 2007, my husband and I separated, and the divorce was finalized a few months ago. My oldest son graduated from high school and now works full-time writing code for an IT company that works with the insurance industry.
