Storing Your Technique Tuesday Clear Stamps!   (6 comments, 196 views) Wednesday, 09 May 2007
If you're like me, the hunt for great storage ideas is always on. I just did a big overhaul of my scraproom (with thanks to a great friend who did a lot of the work!) and everything now has a home and I couldn't be happier! So I thought today would be a great day to share my storage idea's and hopefully hear some of yours.

I'll first start with the obvious. Technique Tuesday has a fantastic storage portfolio!

port_large
It has
two gusseted compartments, internal pockets, both a cushioned handle and removable shoulder strap, the removable strap makes this easy for shelf storage. This stylish case can hold over 750 clear stamps, four TT ink kits, and all of your blocks. What more could you ask for? It comes in a rich navy blue with yellow embroidery. Lightweight yet durable, our portfolio is the ultimate stamp storage and transportation system. A lot of people like this because it has an all around zipper closer that keeps light and dust out. This is great for starter storage or for the more modest TT collector. I use it for traveling with my stamps, no need to worry about losing one as they are safe and secure! Not to mention the zipper pocket is big enough to hold lots of inks and blocks!

So what about those of you who either have waaaaaaaay more TT stamps then you care to admit or would simply like to try something different? Here's how I store mine, black 3" binders. Granted I use them on almost every project so I like to keep them at arms reach, they are placed on the first shelf above my desk. And I have to admit, I just bought too more binders as I have out grown the ones in the photo and thus I need to redo my alphabet organization. Plus I will be adding a binder just for large image sets. Here's how they look on the shelf, and since TT three hole punches all their large sets, this is easy as pie to do!

Please note that if you fear dust, then a small tea towel or other cover would work just fine resting on top. I use mine weekly so dust has never been an issue!

Now you may be asking, what about those small sets? HaHa! I have found the PERFECT solution for these babies! It's a little 3.5x5 inch file storage box, this one in particular is by snap-n-store but I am sure any file box this size would work. I simply have them labeled by theme ei. borders, alpha, images etc... Plus it has a lid and I stack it on other file boxes of the same size when not in use.(this box sits on top of the other two in the binder photo)

So there you have it three quick and easy storage solutions for all your Technique Tuesday Clear Stamps, as for my blocks, inks and cleaners, they are all in two of my desk drawers, for quick and easy access.

We would love it if you shared any great Technique Tuesday Clear Stamp storage that you may have! And for those of you with the spring cleaning storage bug, looking for more storage ideas you can check out my Zeebootee Gallery for other ways I found to organize my stash!

Happy Stampin' Everyone!

Oh and don't forget about MOM, we wish a Happy Mothers Day to all!

Wow! I just started stamping so I only have a few stamps and no issues keeping them organized. But if I ever find myself this Lucky...Thank you for the tips!

I love TT stamps and have many, many sets - in fact, I recently and seriously have outgrown my portfolio from TT. So what I have done is moved all my alpha TT sets into 3" binder. The image sets remain in the portfolio. For the smaller sets that are not on 8 1/2 X 11 sheets I took a plastic sheet protector and half way down stitched with my sewing machine and straight line across the entire protector. Then I took a cutting knife, gently poked into top layer of sheet protector right below the stitched line, thus creating a sheet protector with two pockets. I can easily get two of the small sets in each pocket. The protector sheets are then put into the TT portfolio along with the image sets.

Thanks for the binder idea! I have so many TT stamps the portfolio isn't close to holding them all. I love your idea, but I think I prefer to keep them all organized by stamp style, not letter. Thanks for a bit of inspiration!

Hehe, Just to clarify, the alphabetical binder storage is by alphabet name ie...Avalon Or Savannah, NOT by me actually putting all my A's and B's and so forth in one binder. ;) believe me I have had days when my mind has worked that way so just in case anyone else was thinking that, I thought I should clear it up.

Here's one of those moments for me: I was so proud that I had a storage solution for my embossing powders. I placed them all in a drawer and wrote the color on the top of each container, time consuming but well worth it. Haha! I thought, how clever am I, now I don't have to pick each one up to see what color it is. So I called my girlfriend to share my brilliant idea. Her response... "Huh, I just turned all mine upside down." DOH! - said in my best Homer impersonation.

Lila, that's a fantastic idea for your small sets! Way to get creative!
