One of our goals for our charitable giving program this year is to not only raise money for autism research but to also raise awareness about autism. During April, we invited people to share their layouts in a special autism awareness gallery on our website. We have been so touched by these layouts and we wanted to share some of them with you.
We liked the design of Lori Renn's "I Wish for Words" layout and appreciated Lori's willingness to share her struggle to truly "hear" her almost three year old son - even without words.
When we asked Carole MacGilvray about the design of her layout she said, "I wanted the layout to look confusing, just like this disorder." Like many of the autism layouts, Carole MacGilvray's layout included journaling that was emotional and heart-wrenching. (Click here to see read Carole's journaling.)
We will be sending $50 in products to Carole for sending us the layout we felt best helped raise awareness about autism and Lori will receive $25 in products. We are sending everyone who submitted in April a limited edition collector stamp set. Thank you to each and every one of you!
If you would like to have your layout about autism posted in our special gallery, please send a high-quality JPEG image, no larger than 400x400 pixels, to Challenges@TechniqueTuesday.com. We will continue to update the autism gallery for the remainder of 2007. submissions@techniquetuesday.com
Thanks to everyone who participated and to those who continue to submit layouts!

I loved the Lo I wish for words. I was almost in tears when I first saw it! I still remember my son and finally hearing him say "I love you, mommy" for the first time! There is always hope for any child on the spectrum! thanks for being such a wonderful force to a good cause!
