Hi, Debbie Raymond here, Adornit editor. For this month’s Beginner Basics, I’m spotlighting the Nancy Jane collection from Adornit. Last fall we moved into a new home. On the side of our home is a forested area that hasn’t been touched for over 30 years. This spring we have been working hard as a family to get it cleaned up and ready for imaginative play. I snapped a few photos of my husband and kids working hard and knew the Fern papers would be the perfect collection to scrapbook this milestone. When looking at a collection of scrapbook supplies, don’t limit yourself to it’s intended theme. For example, I used the Dance Collection on this layout of my daughter’s first day of school. The base of my layout is the adorable Aged Line Black paper from the Nancy Jane Collection. And then my photos are mounted on the Pink Brocade paper from the Dance Collection. I absolutely adore the colors of the Nancy Jane Collection . . . and with three daughters, I can see myself using this collection again and again. With the blue, black, and orange it also would be a great collection to use for my son! For this page of my youngest daughter, I cut out the flower cluster from the Lazy Daisy paper to use as my main accent.
