off to school

Another post from Carrie Zohn...
I found myself looking at my girls' baby pictures this morning and wondering where all the time has gone! My oldest daughter is in first grade and the youngest will start Kindergarten next year. The school where Kassie currently goes requires the parents volunteer at least four hours a month to the school in helping with trips, events and other aspects of the school. Fortunately I found my niche' in the volunteer world at the school - photography! They need photographs for the year book, the newsletter, the website, etc. so I feel like I'm at the school as much as Kassie is!! But that's really a good thing because I get to see her once in a while rather than going all day without getting a flash of that smile of hers!
I'm so thankful to have my scrapbooking though to get me through times like these. I sit here and look at all the photos I've taken in the past couple of years, mostly at Kassie's school, and I realize that I'll never be caught up. But I'm thankful to have so much to scrap about in my life that I honestly don't care if I ever get caught up (which is good, because it's just not going to happen! LOL).
Be sure to document everything in your kids' lives ... both the good and the bad! It's those bad times that will make you look back and laugh (and realize that they really weren't THAT bad!). My girls LOVE looking through the scrapbooks from when they were babies and have me tell them stories about when they were little. They make for GREAT bedtime stories . . . and of course, wonderful bonding time with my kids. :)

I still and 2 year before my dd is off to school... and I am already behind when it comes to scrapbooking her pictures! But like you I love taking pictures... I love scrapbooking... and I love having my dd as my subject... TFS!
