Home for the Holidays...   (1 comment, 77 views) Monday, 03 December 2007

So - are you all ready for some holiday inspiration??? First, I have to tell you a funny story. A few weeks ago a few of us were gathered around Debbie's desk discussing something (we always have a zillion projecs going) and something was said about Christmas. My mom's first response was something like "we are so past Christmas". We all just looked at each other and started laughing because we had just had halloween and in reality we were so far from Christmas. Right now our Valentines collection is at the printers, our new spring collection is designed and we're thinking of easter. That shows you how far in advance we have to work.

The day after Thanksgiving I was one of those crazy ladies who woke up too early (3:30 am) and hit the stores for good deals. I went through all the ads the night before and me, my MIL, and SIL knew exactly where we wanted to go and what times we needed to be there. The good news... I saved LOTS of money and the even better news... I got ALL my shopping DONE! I have a few more gifts that I want to make so I'll be sharing those with you throughout the next few weeks.

For all your Christmas decorating our new Christmas Joy Pattern Book is a must have! It is 36 pages and includes all the patterns for each project. If you would rather have us do the hard work - you can purchase the wood kits individually. Seriously - you'll love it!

My first project I want to share with you is our Countdown Magnet Board designed by our talented Eileen Workman. The metal board it painted with creme paint and then she glued down photos to the magnet board. Next, she glued our Christmas Countdown paper to chipboard and adhered magnets on the back. So, for each day you remove the number and a picture is revealed. Detailed instructions are included in the Pattern Book or if you purchase the wood kit. I want to make this for our house, but I think I'm going to put a nativity picture so on Christmas the entire nativity picture is revealed. Thanks Eileen for the fun idea!

I can relate to your story - the day before the 12 Days of Christmas launched for us here at Scrapbook.com I was picking what our Valentine's promo would be. Everyone around here thought I was crazy!

BTW, I have this book and love it particularly how the patterns are included. Beautiful projects!
