Two weeks into the Scraproom Challenge   (1 comment, 62 views) Sunday, 17 September 2006

Well it's been two weeks now since I started this challenge and I've run into a few hurdles along the way that have slowed me down. I have managed to complete one wall with furniture and shelves. I'm now working on the window wall. The shelves I want are sold out and I got the last plastic table I could find. Not being able to get all the tables turned out to be a blessing. I also sew and I found out very quickly that the plastic table top is not sturdy enough for sewing. LOL! While sewing my curtain material, the sewing maching causes the table top to bounce! LOL! Not Good! No problem with the serger. So I have to get the wood folding table or give up sewing. Looks like I'll be waiting for the table! Speaking of curtain material, make sure you watch the person cutting the material and open the material up and look at the back side. My striped material was cut short of the 3 yards I ordered and the floral material had somthing black in runs all on the back. So a balloon topper valance is out. Live and Learn.

I have been able to play with my paints on the corkboard, but I do miss scrapping. It's been over 4 weeks now since I've scrapped but now I'm making sketches of my ideas so I can catch up.

You all have a Great Day and I'll fill you in when there is more progress.

Janet? Try going to Goodwill! They often have smaller sturdy desks & tables that are perfect for sewing machines! They even get sewing machine cabinets in on a regular basis at our GW.

Do you have one near your route to and from work..or Hubbys? The more you stop by, the more chance you have at finding something just wonderful! And if you are at the doors when they open Saturday morning, you might find a real awesome piece! They do set out all day though!

I have a beautfil antique dresser from there! And a table for my sewing machine, that I now need to re learn how to use!! Haven't sewn since I was 16 years old! LOL! I'll be 54 this Wednesday, so that's a lot of years!!!

Have a Blessed week!
Love in Jesus,
Celia
