I started scrapbooking again right after my daughter was born in 2005. My mom has been watching me scrap, shopping with me, and loves looking at all of my layouts but she kept insisting she wouldnt know where to start, so what I did was invited her and my SIL to the LSS and we scrapped for the first time. I spent most of the time trying to get them to understand that its NOT a waste of a product if you mess up, not everyone starts out perfect. It was about 6 or 7 hours and they each completed one layout that they were not too happy with in comparison to my albums, but I showed them some of my first layouts and they were blown away. I explained how I just picked up different techniques from looking at everyone elses pages, and some I changed to make my own. I explaine dthat its not shameful to scraplift, and sometimes that gives you the sense of accomplishment without having to deal with planning the layout from scratch! My SIL doesn't scrap as much now, but my mom does. I just bought her an expression for Mothers day & she couldn't of been more giddy!
