Another person I've taught to scrapbook is my mother in law. She went to school for interior design and has always been into art type things, but she was afraid to start scrapping. She collected supplies more than anything at first. I invited her over when we first moved into our current home and I had my scrap studio all set up. She brought a bunch of her supplies and some books she had bought. She ended up not scrapping that day but watching me scrap and playing with my DD. Then last summer the scrap & stamp expo came here to Pittsburgh and I called and invited her. She bought more supplies, and I teased her about me getting DH to use her supplies before she does.
She came over a few weeks after that and we scrapped until nearly 2am. She had brought her supplies and her magazines & books she bought for inspiration, but used my albums instead. I was very flattered over that. Now she scraps every few weeks when she can find the time and when we go over for dinner she is always excited to show me her latest creations. She has finished 2 albums for DD but I'm trying to talk her into doing one for DH. I have the pictures of his childhood as well, but she has the stories to go with them...so we may collaborate on it. Either way, it's definitely been an avenue that has made us bond alot better than we have in the past. Now we have something more in common that doesn't have such a high emotional attachment as DH...who is an only child, need I say more? HA!
