I recently reconnected with an old friend from high school & college. I hadn't seen her in almost 7 years. We were catching up on what was different in each other's lives &, of course, the subject of scrapbooking came up. I was telling her that I really loved it & it was a really great way to document the goings on of my children's lives. The last time I saw her I hadn't yet found the joy of scrapbooking. She thought it was kind of funny that I was into scrapping b/c she knew me in college & knew that I didn't have a creative bone in my body. As I talked about it more & more, she seemed more & more interested. She had recently gotten married & she said she had a ton of pics from her shower, bachelorette party, wedding, & honeymoon that she would like to scrap. I told her I would be happy to help her put together an album to get her started. She was thrilled with that idea. She lives about an hour away from me, but the town we lived in in high school is about midway between where we each live now. I gave her a list of things that she would need if she planned to do a scrapbook & told her to get that stuff then call me back & we would get together in the town we are from so I could help her. She called me the other day & said she had the stuff I told her to buy. She was so excited about all of it, she said she couldn't wait to play with it until we could get together, so I gave her some guidance and ideas over the phone. I told her, like I have told so many others, that the internet is a great source for scrappy inspiration. I told her a few of my favorite sites & told her she should visit them for some ideas & to find out what styles of LOs she likes. I told her once she figured out what style LOs would best fit her to let me know & I would help her in any way I could. We still have plans to meet & scrap together & I can't wait until we both have time. If we get a chance to do it before the end of the month, I'll take some pics & post them in my gallery.
