Okay, this has nothing to do with scrapbooking, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway.

I am in serious need of some motivation to get myself back into shape! I thought a challenge would be just the kick I need to get develop some healthy habits (they say it takes 28 days to start a habit, ya know...)

So, here's what I was thinking, that we could do a healthy habits challenge, based on points.

Points:
100 points for creating a weekly meal plan/menu
25 points for weekly weigh-in if you have a weight loss goal

Daily points:
1 point per healthy recipe shared on the thread
5 points per 8 oz glass of water
5 points per serving of fruits/veggies/whole grains
SUBTRACT 5 points per UNhealthy snack (pop/soda, candy bars, cookies, cakes, etc.--don't lose points for DIET soda)
5 points for posting your daily food log/journal each day. Either at your sb.com blog or in this thread.
15 points per 20 minutes of exercise/physical activity

***If you don't want to count points, feel free to join in w/ your goals, food logs, tips, etc.***

this sounds great. i'm not great at keeping track of points, but i'll try! also, being unemployed, i really don't have any extra cash right now so i could just play for fun if that's alright. let me know and i'd play along!

You could incoporate a scrapbook project into this, by keeping a journal and taking pictures of your progress, set-backs, victories, etc.

I think that would be a great idea --count me in---maybe we could also promise each other a small rak

since our goals will be different we could reevaluate at the midpoint of the month see if we are on track--motivate each other more then again at the end of the month.--just an idea!

but I need some motivation as well and since I am on here often--as I clear my throat I think this would help. I have to tell everyone up front though I am a big kidder so be prepared!!

oh yeah and as for the soda--what if its diet?

Zandra...feel free to use this thread to keep track of what you are eating, etc. I will even add points for a daily food log.

We will go ahead and officially start Monday, September 7th

Even if it's just a few of us, I still think it can be beneficial.

ok on monday I had
1 slimfast

4 oz ckn
1 cup macaroni
1 boiled potatoe plain
1 snack size snickers
6 beers
4 glasses of water


tuesday

1 ham cheese sandwich
1 small bag cheetos

2 oz ckn
2 glasses of sweet tea


ok so not a great start but not too bad! hoping to do better tomorrow and get in some situps!

On monday i ate practically nothing.
2 bowls of cereal
a sausage sandwich
An oaty health biscuit
2 rice cakes

Yesterday i ate
2 bowls of cereal
Chicken, rice, steamed veggies & potato wedges
An oaty health biscuit
4 rice cakes

I drink about a litre of squash everyday & usually 1 or 2 cups of tea.
I eat cereal for breakfast then again for supper. It seems i have this huge appetite lately. So i am snacking on rice cakes & low fat oaty biscuit bars i found recently.

Yesterday i even did a little exercise i went out walking for 30minutes with my 2 labs.

ok for today I had

1 bowl of hamburger helper
1 bowl of cereal--snack
2 glasses of water


ugh--no exercise this is what I really need to do!

Can I play -- I had bariatric surgery -- so my meals would be unhealthy for anyone else -- I have lost 150lbs., but my surgeon wants me to lose about 25 more and I am at a stuck point. What I need is to exercise and I could use some motivation and support!! I have made all kinds of promises to myself and others and not lived up to them -- maybe this is what I need!!!!
