I used to quilt and now that I scrap I just use my old quilting cutting mat. LOL...I love it. I've had it for 8 years and it doesn't look worn at all. So that would be my advice, to look in the sewing section. I don't know if that helps...

I bought my mat from an office supply store. It cost less money than at a scrapbook store and it works perfect! Plus, they offer a variety of different size mats.

I have one from the quilting department at HL. LOVE it!!

I am hoping to get a quilting mat..Heard great things about them..

I have a Martha Stewart Self healing mat. It is pretty decent! I do manual hole punching on it and you can see little circles, but they are smooth. If you do heat embossing though, don't do it on these mats because it will warp it! Try the Tim Holtz craft mat (not for cutting though =) or you use a cookie sheet!!

I have an old fiskars one from a sewing department! It's a self healing one too.

Good luck in finding one. No a days they come in all kinds of sizes.

Yeh, I want one that is at least 12 X 12, I have one of the CM that is 12 X 10 1/2 and it stinks not being large enough.
