Looking for an envelope template..especially if a set can do a couple of sizes. I am totally new to cardmaking, but I think a custom envelope would be nice. Any ideas?

I know that my Martha Stewart scoring board has instructions on the back for making envelopes. Just standard looking envelopes but of course you can customize the sizes.

The PaperSource sells templates along with the lining. You can use the score board to make your own, especially if you are making custom sizes, just know that odd sizes cost more to send through USPS. There are dies out there that also cut the envelopes if you are looking for standard sizes.

Paper Source templates are the greatest and they even have envelope liners too! Have fun!

If you have a Cricut, the Wild Card cart has loads of envelopes, including novel shapes (such as one that incorporates a Christmas tree, for example).

There is a resource page here that has some envelope sizes listed with the size paper you will need and where to score. Here it is:

I also found some videos on You Tube before that were very helpful. Here are the links to those:

There are lots of other videos too, but I liked these because they were step by step instructions.

I have seen flexible plastic envelope templates sold on TV shopping networks, but I haven't found them in any of the craft stores I shop. I was very dismayed by that when I needed one, which is how and why I found the resources I listed above. Good luck to you.

This is by far the easiest envelope I have ever attempted. I am horrible with directions and was able to follow this one to a T. You can make any size envelope up to a 12x12 paper! Best of all, NO measuring involved!

Hope this link works.

I did a 2 minute video on how to make an envelope with just a trimmer and a bone folder/scoring blade. Search "runzalot81 make your own envelope" on youtube.

I like using these envelope templates. I have had them for a long time but they are so easy to use.

Uh oh...so I have the martha stewart scoring board...but I don't see an envelope guide. I kept the back piece, for the directions. Was that envelope guide a piece of cardboard? Wonder if that ended up in the trash.

The envelope guide slides out of the bottom. Right hand side. HTH

The Martha Stewart scoring board also has a piece of paper in the compartment at the top that holds the scoring tool that has the sizes of envelopes and cards printed on it. There were two with mine which I think are stickers...I'll have to double check.

Yeah, I had my Martha scoring board for a few weeks before I noticed the envelope guide thingy in the slot in the side! It stays in there good!
