Challenges (as of 2/20/09)
Here's the details:

Challenge #1 (long term challenge):
Start a visual Journal! It can be any format you want... sketchbook, individual pages, notebook, whateva... This is a book about you and what's going on in your life right now. A place to try techniques. I'm going to give prompts each week to work on. These pages are not meant to be "finished" but more like works in progress or fun pages.
The first prompt is: What is your "WORD of the Year"? I love Ali Edwards idea to pick a word that defines your year or goals for the year. One that will pop up over and over again throughout the year. Mine is Patience. Here is my example:
Visual Journal Entry #1: Patience By Sigmagirl


2nd week prompt: What is beautiful to you? Maybe it's something that you find beautiful around you or something that you like about yourself... Interpret either way. The key is sharing what you think is beautiful!

Challenge #2: Due 3/20/09

Okay, now that the new thread is started... how about a Challenge or two???

Here's my first idea:
Start a "YearBook" or Visual Journal that documents your year... Many artists do this and I've made a resolution to do one this year. I bought myself a spiral bound sketchbook that is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". I started my first entry about my word of the year... ala Ali Edwards... Mine is "Patience". So, are you with me? If you want to do a BOM or scrapbook version of visual journal (with loose pages rather than a bound book) that is great! We can post a page a week... or more if you do more.. My goal is 1 page per week!

CHALLENGE #2:
I'm open for ideas regarding a scrap challenge... let the ideas flow below!!! Then I will post a vote poll and we can decide what our first one will be!

Yuck, I'm home with a sick daughter and a sick husband. Bear actually stayed home from work last night. He had to help get Spencer out of bed this morning. Spence was too tired to go to school. I just hope he doesn't get sick too Or me and Ana.

I hate it when everyone is sick.

Good news though. I'm going on a scrappy retreat at the end of the month. I haven't seen my scrappy buddies in so long, I'm really looking forward to this.

Ana had her six month checkup yesterday. 27 inches tall and 17 lbs 1 1/4 oz.

Well I was put on a antibiotic for the sinus infection took them all and it only came right back so I can't win this winter so I will just live with the headaches. Yuck!! But I have been busy somewhat since Christmas and just haven't posted anything here so I have sometime this morning. thank you for looking!!!
