There's a thread on here about bargain scrapping. That should help. The most important part is not using anything that's not acid-free touching your pictures.

There are a ton of things you can recycle! The sky is the limit, just about. I've used coffee cans, Pringles cans, shoeboxes, and misc. small cardboard boxes that I got from work. You know what the really fun part is about using that stuff? You can alter it to match anything!

i recycle ribbons from gifts and cards, and re-purpose printed unused napkins, place cards, etc into embelishments.
