Hello

I have a suitcase full of old family photos. Some of them from the early 1900's, of grim Victorian corseted maiden aunts and children in sailor suits etc. They are in varying stages of decomposition. I'd like to scan and then scrapbook some of the better ones, especially those where we know the identity of the subject. Any suggestions for layouts please?

Oh lucky you! There are such beautiful vintage papers around these days. Just do a search for vintage in the Gallery and you'll get a million ideas. Tim Holtz is the master of vintage for products too.

I'd be having loads of fun with distressing, inking, misting, tearing, brown paper. Enjoy!

Hi Annie, Welcome to sb.com

I (and many people) absolutely LOVE vintage/heirloom photos!!! Lucky you!

For inspiration, when you go to the Gallery, & click on Layouts, you will get many Subcategories. For instance if you click on Styles you will have Subcategories like Distressed, Heritage, or Vintage. If you click on Themes you will have Subcategories that include Family & Heirloom.

There are so many talented people here and so many AWESOME Layouts to look at and get inspiration from. Have Fun!!!!

I'd love to find a suitcase filled with photo's like that! Yer lucky!
There is a ton of brands out there suitable for those photo's! Especially Graphic45 has awesome papers for that. Also Prima Marketing, BoBunny, Kaiser Crafts, K&Company, Tim Holtz (ofcourse), and lots more. Just google!
And the photo's you dont know the person, you can always use on vintage themed cards or other decoration or gifts.

What a great find!

Oh what a great idea! I recently saw an album of old photographs on sale at a thrift store. It never crossed my mind to buy it and use them on cards. I hope it's still there!
