Hi!!! soooo glad you're interested in digital scrapbooking ! it's soooo much fun!

the printing of digital pages had me stumped too. the easiest way to print a 12x12 page at home is to just print them out at an 8x8 size on 8.5x11 photo paper and just trim the edges.

however, if you use 8.5x11 size to do your digital layouts (which is the size i do all of my layouts on and i LOVE it!!) you could also, of course print them at home. however i will say that which ever size you choose, probably the BEST way i have found to have them printed is to go through shutterfly.com. the do INCREDIBLE work! they print all of your pages (full bleed... which means there are no white margins... they print all the way to the edge of the paper... it's gorgeous!) then they bind them all and put them in a "coffee table" type book with a really nice cover. i've had one made and it just turned out beautifully. they can get a little pricy, but printing them at home can be JUST as expensive... those pages can suck the ink right out of your printer in no time flat! anyway... i've tried it all and i DEFINITELY reccomend shutterfly. there are a couple of places i've heard about that can print just your pages, but i've never done it that way only because i never seem to like how they look just sort of "loosly" in an album. i'm sure there is a better way to do that and make it look nice, but i haven't found it. anyway... quick note though... if you decide to use the 8.5x11 size to scrap with and want to do a shutterfly book, be sure to do all of your layouts in landscape form... that's the only way shutterfly can currently print using that size. but they do all different sizes, including 12x12... you should check out their website.

anyway... if you have any more questions... let me know. i'd be HAPPY to help you get started!!!

good luck!!!!

Hi, I'm a total newbie!! My husband got me my 1st computer @ Christmas (Iheld out for a laptop) I just bought FotoFusion last week and have been scared to death to even open the box! I've been going thru chemo and I just don't remember how to do things like I used to. We just moved to IN from TX and my husband is traveling and since we don't know anyone here-digital scrapping is supposed to be my salvation. I'm scred of making a fool of my self if I take an on-line class. I've scanned a few pics my Uncle had before I left and have 5 HUGE boxes to go thru. i had bought ACDSEE photo manager and Photoshop Elements 2.0 came w. my scanner. You've given me hope!!! Now I need courage Thanks for your post!!

I'm new to the world of digital scrapping, but wanted to say that I love scrapping 12x12 and that's what I plan on doing when I actually do start digitally scrapping. I'm just not a big fan of the 8.5x11 size pages. I will be having them printed elsewhere as I do not have a wide format printer. I hear they can be expensive, but I haven't researched it myself.

If you love DigiScrapping. Check out the National Association of Digital Scrapbookers website. They have some free videos and DVDs. For the next few days they are also doing a promo which allows you to get into the membership area for FREE.

You might even try Costco.com They print 12x18's for only $3 - That way you will get 1 12x12 and 2 6x6's.

4Kids4Me:

Lumapix Fotofusion is an awesome and really easy-to-use software. I use it and print my 12x12 pages out on my HP Photosmart B8350 wide format printer at home. You can get 12x12 paper reasonably priced at BHPhotoVideo.com and I get my ink (in four packs) off of ebay. I did have prints done at PEPhoto.com (pricing here: http://www.bestcolorphoto.com/pricing.php). They are cheaper than Shutterfly and my prints came back awesome!

Happy digi-scrapping!

Hello everyone, I just joined this forum today and I think I posted my original post in the wrong section at any rate I know a great place to go to if you want to "digitize" your scrap-booking!

iMemories allows you to send them your photos, videos, even old cassette tapes and converts them for you on a dvd!

I just did this for my Mom with some old pictures of her parents and she loved it. Just thought I'd spread the word...

it actually depends on the type of scrapbook you want to make, if it is good enough to be kept as a " keeper " then you should get a professional print,

prints at home are just about similar to those prints, but the real difference is in the life of the prints.

I just filled out the survey and I really want to try this program.
Before that I've bought ACDSEE photo manager and Photoshop Elements 2.0. Totally fine to me, and also ImageFramer for the frames, look really nice
