Hi everyone. I am new here and am loving it but i have a problem. I live in the Middle East where supplies aren't readily available. I have a question. Do you guys have any ideas for alphabets? I mean if i print alphabets out, its such a hassle cutting them out, they're never neatly done, when i do them. Is there a solution to that. I dont find a good variety of alphabet stickers here. I heard about the sizzix machine, how easy is it to use? DO i need to buy alphabars for it? Will it give me just the alphabets or with a square around it or circle or whatever. I hope I'm making sense coz its really frusterating me as i have so many nice pics that i want to make layouts for but titles are always an issue for me. Please help. I'm sure you all will give me very helpful tips. Thanks in Advance.

My suggestion for a beginning scrapper is Coluzzle for alphas 1-1/2 and larger (can look up online, or at an LSS); I use mine a lot for letters and shapes. This gives you time to investigate the sizzix and other diecut machines, which tend to be expensive, and the dies to go with them are quite expensive. There's lots of info online on these, including here at sb.com.

Sizzix is having a huge sale on their website right now, but I have no idea about their shipping internationally. I use my Sizzix often and have an alphabet (Lollipop) and alphabars (Ransom). I am a little disappointed in the alphabars -- they seem very small.

One thing I have found is called AlphaStax, and they are letters in a stack. You can get them in different fonts and different colors. Here at Michael's they are about $8.00, and you get about 100 of each letter. Then they can be run through a Xyron or affixed with adhesive. This is what I used a lot before I got my Sizzix alphabet.

I have Coluzzle as well, but no alphabets with it. It is pretty easy to use as well.

HTH!

Welcome to the board!

My suggestion would be the Sizzix Sidekick. I have it and it is super easy to use. I LOVE it!!!! You would buy the Sizzlits to use with it and their are many alphabet fonts to choose from. Check out the sizzix website, they've been having sales a lot lately. The sidekick is small, lightweight, and like I said, easy to use. Hope this helps. Have fun and good luck!

Do you have a local scrap book store to go to and cut out letters there? You can buy alphabet stickers on this site. I'd suggest not investing in a sizzix now as Cricuts are coming down in price. Check into cutters (wishblad is one) that tie into your computer as then you don't ever have to buy a cartridge (like with Cricut).

The alphabars come three letters to a "bar", so you don't have as many to store. The alphabets, each letter is on its own die, about the same size as the Sizzix "green" dies. So there are more of them to keep up with, but the letters themselves are larger. HTH!

what about foam or rubber stamps? They are easy to use, come in different fonts/styles and you just stamp directly on the layout.

Sizzix is very easy to use, you slide the die in over your paper, pull the handle down and remove your cut out item. My 8 year old uses mine all the time. I dont have any of the alphabet ones because they were a bit too expensive for me, but now they are a lot of great sales on them

Hi!
I live in Chile, where there are NOT scrapbook store s (i mean in the whole country!), and i get all my stuff on the web. Normally i must pay more for the shipping than for the things i buy.
When it comes to alphabets i bought a QuicKutz tool and olivia skinny mini. Now y got the summer gift set(but they are sooooo expensive). The other thing I use to buy is letter stickers, cause they are more cheap.
