I love using my watercolor crayons to color in line images that I've stamped. I'll outline the image after it's stamped with the watercolor crayon and then using a blender pen (available from SU) I color in the rest of the image. I prefer the blender pen over a brush and water because I feel it is more controled.
Here are a few photos from my gallery here that use SU! Watercolor crayons -

I love watercolor pencils. I particularly like the Prismacolor. I teach high school Art, so I'm a little picky. I've used the Prismacolor colored pencils w/ Gamsol mineral spirits and it gives it a really cool effect.

The blender pens for the watercolor crayons/pencils aren't very expensive. Several online stores have them. If you don't have access to them you might try a blending stump and water...or even a Q-tip w/ water.

the superstore here sells a blender pen - I think it's by dove. I don't know much about it, since I use SU! but I'm sure it's a great alternative

The watercolor crayons and blender pen are on my want list from SU. I love the effect of them and used them at a demo to make cards. Gotta order them!
