So I was browsing through my PageMaps book and I'm loving all the 81/2x11 horizontal LOs in there and just wondering-are there horizontal albums out there? I've never seen any in the stores and I know my LSS doesn't carry any.

So I googled it and came up with nothing. I guess you could just use a regular 81/2x11 album but I'm not sure I'd like to look at it or flip through it like that. Seems like it would be awkward. Maybe this is where the BIA would come in handy? Just make your own books??

Run to Hobby Lobby. They had two very cute 8.5x11 albums that I saw last night and I remember thinking "Horizontal? Really?" and this week their albums are 40% off... or is it 50% off?

Here's asome from the superstore here.

I just use 8.5x11 notebooks for my albums even though I'm mainly scrapping 11x8.5 layouts now. I just turn the album and pages are above and below instead of side by side.

I found a horizontal one by chance at Big Lots one trip. It was fabric covered and I'm using it for my nephew's wedding pictures.

I have been known to do a 2 page 12 x 12 layout horizontally just for a different look in my albums. I did one of my son's basketball team and he loves it.

Cheaper paper but not as much choice. Unless we cut down from 12x12.

Or use 8x8 papers.

I have one I got at none other than...Wal-Mart. They continue to carry the extra page protectors for it too. It's a nice suede one, and I love it! It's a post-bound style made by Pioneer . I really enjoy scrapping in this format!!

I think these are very cute! but I am too much of a creature of habit to diverge from 12x12

CM does a horizontal 10x12 album. Very nice for a change of pace.

I've seen them at M and HL. I think the trick when searching is to not go 8.5 X 11 but rather 11 x 8.5

I am making a 11x 8,5 album myself right at this moment. I am combining the 11x8,5 with smaller size pages in order to fit in all my vacation photos.

A lot of cute page maps seem to 11X8.

American Crafts makes them...

I also bought some made by Kodak at Big Lots a few weeks ago for $4

As a digital scrapper the reluctance of scrap retailers to do 11x8.5 is maddening. I create my pages in 11x8.5 format because that is what the major PHOTOBOOK makers allow (ie. there are no 8.5x11 photobooks). So I make my layouts 11x8.5 and then if I want the option of printing them and putting them in my SCRAPBOOKS rather than uploading to a hardbound photobook, I'm out of luck!

I've seen great examples of mixed-media albums where the user took a 12x12 3-ring and mixed sizes (11x8.5; 8.5x11, 8x8, 12x12) in one, cohesive album and it looked fantastic. What I'm finding, however, is that no merchant seems to carry a line where X album features ALL the sizes of protectors to fit X album. It's maddening!

I do almost all my scrapping in 11x8.5 format and with two page spreads holding a portrait album sideways is not an option.

FYI American Crafs no longer carries 11x8.5 page protectors - per their email to me last week.

I got a couple (also called landscape) from Pioneer at the scrapbook expo. They were on special and had been made for Ms or HL and they were closing them out. But the guy said they still make them but just didn't have any there at the show. They are hard to find.
I really want the K and Co Heritage ones.
I love this size too. I use the 8 1/2 x 11 pps or cut down the 12x12.
I don't make too many in this format because the albums are scarce but they are out there.

I have an AC landscape album but I cannot find the refills and I am frustrated. I do enjoy the change in size, though.
