To anyone that has these, have you ever tried to use the top on regular craft paint, does it work? Its very frustrating because the stores don't really sell his products and there so many I want...I am wanting to get some but they are pricey. Any suggestions?

Not sure whre in NC you live, but I think that Artists Oasis in Apex has them. They at least have tons of Tim Holtz and Ranger stuff!
