I've never "chalked" before but would like to learn. IYO, which are the best and least messy to dabble with. I'd rather chalk to add dimension and color rather than use all my stickles and ZIG markers. TIA!

I never have any luck with chalk, dunno why, but it don't ever want to stay on for me.. I would much rather use inks or stickles...but thats just me!

I really like these chalks below. They've worked well for me
To help the chalk stay on, I always spray the chalked area of my paper with a fixative. I found a bottle at Hobby Lobby for about $5. I've never had anything smear on me after spraying the paper.

These work awesome with chalks. I bought mine individually at my LSS for $1.00 each.
