Just arrived in Okinawa. I am in our room on the Navy base - awesome room. Nice kitchen and dining room. Living room area with double bed in the same room. Very comfortable.
We didn't get out until around 3:30 this afternoon but had a blast visiting with the army guys. They couldn't get on any of the planes so one was sent for them. There were just 3 who had to get back and 10 seats so they took the 3 of them and Bill and me and one other couple.
It was a C-130. Very small military plane meant to the skydivers to use for jumps and maneuvers. We sat on side seats with the parachute hooks over our heads.
They didn't give instructions for safety becasue it was so loud you wouldn't have been able to hear them.
After we got up the co-pilot came down and asked me if I wanted to go in the cockpit. There was the most gorgeous sunset and I was pleased, I love to be in the cockpot when we fly.
Tomorrow there is a flight to Hawaii - showtime 2:40PM. We are going to sightsee and check out Okinawa and then be at the airport to see if we get seats. There are only 10 available and I don't know how many will want to fly on Thanksgiving. We are so low on priority - retirees are on the bottom so everyone goes ahead of us on the list but we are going to try.
If you watch movies and see the military planes - small inside with some cargo and a narrow floor and seats up and down both sides, about 20 on each side, that is what we flew on for about 3 hours. It actually had props.
The cargo was huge and took up over half the plane so they could only get 10-12 people on the plane.
If all goes well we will be in Hawaii at 7:30AM Hawaii time Friday morning.
As soon as we get to Hawaii we will call and see if he is able to travel and how long he is off work. Then we will start planning his trip out here if the timing is good and if he is able to travel. He still doesn't know anything!

Hey Henri, glad you got out of Tokyo at least!
So dd overslept and missed her flight, haha! Sometimes dh can be so dumb.....like she was really going to make a 5:30 am departure WITHOUT ME TO MAKE HER?!?!?
So now her Black Wednesday ordeal has officially begun...stay tuned.
