I was always fascinated by the Scrap Lab column in BHG Scrapbooks Etc. I thought it was so interesting to see how 4 scrapbookers can be given the same products and come up with totally different layouts.
Sooooo - I want to try this myself and am putting the challenge out there. I'd like to use the types of products they gave to the sbers in the October issue (more or less). We can't all use exactly the same stuff, but we can use the same 'type' of supplies. Soooo - here goes:
1. Create a layout with only the following
supplies:
*3 sheets of patterned paper (in any fall
color - see post below)
*a clear overlay, clear film, or clear
embellies
*leaf embellishment (you can get creative here
if you don't own any - i think i'm using a
punch)
*you can add any basics you want
(cardstock,alpha letters or chipboard, brads,
computer fonts)
2. Post your layout here with a link to the
layout anytime from October 1 to October 27th
MN EST.
3. A random winner will be pulled on October
28th for a little RAK from me.
4. Post one layout please - and i am not limiting
the number of players on this one.
5. If you can post love for others, that would be
great!
Hope you want to play! If anyone wants to see the article I'm talking about, it's in the BHG Scrapbooks, etc October issue page 121.

How I'm going to do this is pull the product first - you know, pretend that's all i have to work with - and then create a layout from that point . . . That will make it easier for sure!

This does sound fun . . . I love that column, and I've always wanted to give it a try.
Maybe we could make it a little more challenging and specify which colors the patterned paper should be? Like maybe you have to use papers with red in them?
Just a thought. :-)

Kristen,
That's a good idea -- since the papers they used in the article had fall colors, I'm open to just saying "any fall color" will do. That means red, orange, yellow - it can have all those colors or just one, etc.
