Would you mind sharing your thoughts on this camera...?

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Canon+-+PowerSho t+10.0-Mega...

I currently own a small Kodak digital camera. It takes very nice pictures however, I have noticed that close-ups and long distance shots are often time blurry.

Will the quality of my pictures get better?

Will my close ups not be blurry?

Will I get good quality long distant shots?

Thanks.
Terrena

I don't know about this particular camera but I know Cannon is considered one of the best if not the best camera brands. I own 2 Cannons myself and I love them!

According to the specs it's a capable little point and shoot. Though the Fuji S1500 has very similar specs and costs less.

My daughter has the Fuji S1000 and I had been down to that or the Canon SX110. I went with the Fuji because, IMO, they make slightly better point and shoots.

Hmmmmmmmm, that is interesting about the Fuji. I am going to check that out. My birthday is this week and I think I could talk my hubby into a new camera if it is priced right.

I totally know nothing about cameras but do know that I want better pictures.

I will also look into the S3 and SX20IS

Thanks

Yes. That's the one.

And the biggest thing you can do to improve your images is learn how exposure works so you know what settings to choose when (even if it's the correct auto mode). That knowledge will let you take better pictures with any camera.

The fuji is a great camera too, i'm sure! They have a good reputation! Just wanted to mention also though that most the pics in my gallery were taken with the Cannon S3 except the most recent one, the bean field, that one was taken with the new XS20 i love the zoom and you can do video in HD but make sure you have a high speed card, at least a 6 if you want high quality video. also the LCD screen rotates, it's so cool and comes in very handy! it's so hard to choose they have so many neat cameras out there!!

Thank you, you all have been very helpful.

Now, how do I learn about exposure?

Learning about how an exposure is made is just learning how shutter speed, aperture, ISO and light all work together to make an exposure. It's the basic foundation of photography.

Some people take a class, some people buy a book, some people read online. It all depends on which way is best for you.
