There are 8x11.5 and 8x8 albums available (I've seen 8x8 more often though)

What PP said. I see 8x8 way more often, but people will make 8.5x11 and use sheet protectors in a binder too.

I ♥ 8.5x11. It's standard, Easy to print at home, and easy to handle and set on a shelf.

My only frustration is knowing the actual measurements of a 8.5x11 scrap album since they aren't really that size but often closer to 11 3/4 x 12 or even 13. Some brands list this but others (We R Memory Keepers I'm talking to you don't. It's frustrating because I need them to fit on the shelves.

I like 8x8 because it's square, like a 12x12,,,,,,8.5x11 isn't,,,,,but that's just a me thing!

I do 12x12 for me, 8x8 for other people, like when I'm making a gift album.
I started out doing 81/2x11 but have been re-doing all those pages to 12x12.

the problem with 8x8 is when you have a 4x6 picture or 5x7 picture thre's not much room for bling! LOL

I use 8-1/2x11 for my BOM, and (other than 12x12) I use 8x8 -- especially for a recipe book I'm putting together. 6x6 was just too small to be able to read the recipes and 12x12 would take up my whole counter!

And get the 3-ring binders! They hold WAAAAY more than the postbound albums do.

I used to do all 12x12 and my citique group did a swap and I had to do a 8.5x11 layout and I got hooked! I don't ever do 12x12 anymore. It's the perfect amount of space to me!

and I use a 3 ring binder too! Just buy some pager protectors and you can decorate the outside!

I personally prefer 12x12 and will occasionally do 8x8 for smaller albums, but I've seen a lot of people doing the 8 1/2 x 11 pages and they are awesome.

As far as albums so you have more space... D-Ring albums all the way! I get the American Crafts ones...
